OP, the majority of hunters hunt animals that would normally grow to a very high population without a predator. Most areas no longer have animals like wolves and mountain lions to keep the population in check. This along with smaller environments due to humans destroying it, make the limit of animals that ecosystem can contain smaller. Open up a book OP, you went full hippie potato. You also posted pictures of either poaching or the type of hunting not typical to the normal hunter.

Although this poster is a ******* himself, I've read this thread and this is really the only decent post in here. Too much butthurt from ******* hunters, not enough explanations like this.

My problem with hunters is that unless they're truly poverty (not in the misc sense of the word) who hunt for food because they don't have the money to go to the store and buy meat themselves, they go fukkin full-azz potato. Most people I know eat the meat that they hunt, but they treat hunting as a sport, not as a privilege.

My dad and grandfather grew up on poverty farms, so they had to hunt otherwise they went hungry. I've never heard either of them talk about hunting in the way that people who were born into the suburbs that I grew up with talk about it. They talk about the best types of stands (as in teh case of hunting deer), the best calls, the best products to hide themselves from their prey, the best camo, the best bullets/gun to use, etc. As I said up above, even though they eat what they hunt, they have all of the gadgets and whatnot as if it's a game and they have the mindset that hunting is a sport. They mount the heads/antlers of the deer they shoot and brag like fukin crazy to anyone that will listen. I know it's because they're from the suburbs and it somewhat *is* a game since it's such a detachment from their reality, but that chit pisses me the gotdam fuk off. Jimmies = rustled every single time without fail.

I mean, ffs, there's hunting channels on tv where old, fat, rich, white guys go and teach you how to shoot chit with a gun that has modifications that cost more than the gun itself.

Having pride in your catches (hunting or fishing) is a part of the human instinct as hunters/gatherers.
Hunting stories can be just as interesting and informative as sharing equipment tips,
They usually go hand in hand in the topic of discussion.
You can learn a lot hearing about what has worked for others in certain situations being out in the field first hand.

The problem is a LOT of hunting is now done in privately enclosed land where the animals aren't even that scared of humans nor have a place to roam, it isnt even hunting, you just walk up and shoot the animal.

I dont think I could kill an animal that trusted me enough to not be scared of me. Now actual hunting where its a game of survival, sure no problem.
