No one turned against him because he was among them, He was known among them to be the trustworthy one, the best of manners.
a. No he was not taking part in there worship.
a. Actually it was the other way around, the polythiests turned aggressive and intolerant towards him.

I sense some confusion in you about Mohammed:
1. No one turned against Mohammed (even though he didn't take part in their polytheism, and even though he was a monotheist), because he was one of them.
2. It was the polytheists that turned aggressive and intolerant towards Mohammed.
Considering that Mohammed was a monotheist and never took part in their polytheism and was one of them and lived with them peacefully for 40 years, why did they turn against him all of a sudden?
Are you going to say; Mohammed started to openly promote Islam and to disapprove of polytheism, that's when the polytheists turned against him?
This is right, according to hadith, the polytheists turned against Mohammed when he started to insult and abuse their Gods and way of life.
Now think about this; Mohammed wanted to establish Islam in Mecca and would remove all of the idols from the Kabba and proclaim himself as the leader of all Muslims and sole proprietor of the Kabba. Clearly, the polytheists were against this, they worshiped the idols and the Kabba was sacred to them, it was also were they got their main revenue from (pilgrims, donations, etc). Why would they give it all up for Mohammed? He never presented proof that he was a prophet, no miracles, nothing, so why would they hand everything over to him, including their traditions, lives and all?
Do you know Surah Al Kafirun? This verse shows how tolerant and peaceful the polytheists were. So Mohammed started to insult and abuse the polytheists' Gods and way of life. The polytheists on the other hand wanted peace in their community and wanted to end the hostilities that Muhammad was instigating. They proposed Mohammed, not once but many times, that they would worship his God for one year and then Mohammed their Gods for one year and in this way, if what Mohammed had to offer them was better than what they had, they would partake of it and take their share of goodness from it, and vice verse. What did Mohammed do? He showed how truly intolerant he was and rejected them and showed his disdain towards them.
The polytheists showed how tolerant they were, they tried to end Mohammed's hostilities the peaceful way but Mohammed would never give up insulting them, that is when they gave him a taste of his own medicine and returned all of Mohammed's insults and abuse back.Last edited by boseador; 07-02-2013 at 02:11 PM.

I now lost the little respect I had for uwootm8 after he is claiming an orally transmitted document is reliable and valid while another isn't - simply because the rejected one proves his false.

How is the Sira unrelated? If not from the sira where then do you learn about Mohammed's past?
You are denying the facts and burying your head in the sand.
Tha sira is clear, Mohammed started it all and the polytheists tried to compromise, they tried bring peace in diplomatic ways. But Mohammed would not stop, nothing could satisfy his greed. So the polytheists returned what Mohammed gave them.
The Hijra from Mecca wasn't due to the Muslims being persecuted for their religion (Mohammed lived among them for 40 years while being a Muslim), it was due to Mohammed's disrespect and trouble making. After that he started to raid caravans and attack villages to take slaves and booty.
All of this is right there in the Sira, not the apologetic version of the sira (sealed nectar), but the original, Al Tabari, Ibn Ishaq, Ibn Hisham Read it with an open mind, leave your faith out of it and you will sea the truthPro MMA record: 0-0-0

I have a question for the Muslim brahs.. this guy here claims to be, "well studied" in Islamic teachings. I asked him a question regarding Al-Mahdi as he personally believes from his studies that Al-Mahdi is really the anti-Christ.. lol..
Anyways, his claim, backed by a hadith, is that Al-Mahdi has been alive and on earth for over 1000 years now. And that he's been hiding from the people until the time is right to come out.
I've learned through my studies that Al-Mahdi will be born. Never have I heard of Al-Mahdi being alive on earth for 1000+ years.
So can we get a clear answer.
Edit: Ah.. after reading his latest post:

lol now it's understandable where he's getting his information.
By the way, pepper your angus, this guy goes into rage mode very easily.أشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله Ùˆ أشهد أن Ù…Øمد رسول الله

No problem, the idea of him not being an ordinary man comes from the Shia belief of the Mahdi.

In this link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9yrpjphY88, people are saying that the Imam Mahdi
a) Doesn't dance
b) Is a human and wouldn't emit light in such constant manner.
c) Lucifer literally meaning 'light-bearer' and therefore this is a demon/jinn. Some people are calling this an aberration on part of the Shiah sect of Islam.

Hi Muslim brahs, I have a few genuine questions and am not attempting to rustle any jimmies (srs)
Did Muhammed kill people? if so, what were the justifications and how many?
Is it true that he killed a Jewish individual and that same night consummated a marriage with that guys wife?
Is Muhammed the perfect example of a person (i have heard this numerous times) and if so what about all the "bad" things he did, if any?
if he is the perfect example but used violence then can he really be considered perfect, what about the Buddha who spread his message and did not hurt anyone
Did he really carry out caravan raids and request 20% of booty? (from another thread)

Yes. When there was necessity. Above all Prophet Muhammad, after being a Prophet of God, was a leader. He fought wars when wars needed to be fought, and ordered punishments when punishment was needed (for example, rape or murder).
Is it true that he killed a Jewish individual and that same night consummated a marriage with that guys wife?

You can download the sealed nectar here (very concise):

btw if you're reading it, the word "Allah" has been written as "All?" for some reason (though that might just be my computer)

As for the booty, 20% of it was distributed to the poor and others in need. Muhammad (pbuh) had very, very few material possessions and lived a humble life.

07-05-2013, 03:46 AM #566The number of babies born with birth defects in Bradford is nearly double the national average, research conducted in the city has shown.
The study found this was largely because of marriages between first cousins in the Pakistani community.
Consanguineous marriage accounted for nearly a third of abnormalities in a study of more than 11,300 babies.
Researchers said the risk of birth defects among children of blood relatives remained small, at 6%.
The study looked at babies involved in the Born in Bradford (BiB) project, a long-term health study of thousands of people born in the city, between 2007 and 2011.
About 1.7% of babies in England and Wales are born with a birth defect such as heart problems or Down's Syndrome, but among BiB babies the rate was nearly double that, at 3%.
----
Q: This is horrible and obviously a burden on healthcare and taxpayers - is this a Muslim thing or just a Pakistani thing or what?

i see,
also heres the link to the other thing:
Shortly after the death of Kenana, Muhammad took his widowed wife Saffiya, as his captive, prior to marrying her and granting her emancipation.
though it isn't really clear why he was killed
Al-Mubarakpuri maintains that al-Rabi was bound by agreements between Muhammad and Khaybar to not conceal anything from the Muslims. He was executed, al-Mubarakpuri concludes, for breaching the agreement.[3] Montgomery Watt supports the view that he was executed for concealing the treasure.[4] Shibli Nomani, however, argues that Kenana was put to death because he had killed Mahmud, the brother of Muhammad bin Maslama. Nomani also casts doubt on the accuraccy of the story due to its sources (see section below).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenana_ibn_al-Rabi
also, if the prophet is the perfect example then should replicating anything he did be OK? for example, how can this not be considered a sin?
Aisha was betrothed to Muhammad at the age of six and the marriage was consummated when she was nine years old.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aisha
and thank you for responding to my previous questions
