Mgering1 tries out Giant sports NEW Banana Protein

First Id like to thank BK, PJungsberger, and Giant Sports for giving me the opportunity to log this protein for them. They also sent along an awesome VIP reviewer t-shirt as well. I was able to log their vanilla protein before and it was by far the best vanilla protein I have tried not just tasting but the texture and mixability of it as well.

Heres a look at the beautiful bottle:

And here is the nutrition label on this

I wish you guys can smell through the screen cause this smells amazing and just like bananas. I also gave it a little dry powder taste test and once again tastes great it will probably make an amazing protein pudding/sludge

I have a few recipes in mind I want to make with this

first I am going to try a regular shake in water as directed on the bottle
most likely mixed in cottage cheese or yogurt or as a pudding
I want to make a protein ice cream
    A banana bread
    A banana cheesecake

If anyone has any great recipes in mind or idea let me know that would be great.

I have to add that I got this tub for free provided by giants sports and I am not affiliated with bb.com or giant sports. I am just a person into fitness who enjoys some good protein and this review is not biased at coming from my personal opinion.

So here is the generic shake in cold water post:

I weighed the scoop and about a level scoop is almost accurate it was maybe off by 2 grams. so I got 38 grams instead of the 36 grams in a serving.

The direction say to mix a scoop in 6-8 ounces water. I mixed it in 8 ounces water and it was pretty thick. I would recommend mixing it in maybe 10 ounces of water to make it a little less thick but still thick enough with a great texture. I mixed it in a shaker for about 20 seconds and mixed up perfectly no foam at all id give it a 10/10.
The taste of this is definitely 12/10 it was way past my expectations. The banana flavor was on point not to mention the texture was just like a milkshake. This was mixed in only water which was hard to believe by the taste.

    Easy Protein Ice cream

    Here are the ingredients

1 frozen banana about 100 grams (weighed before freezing)
    4 ounces almond milk unsweetened
    1 scoop banana protein
    2 tbsp. stevia
1/2 quest bar this one was peanut butter supreme

directions just add everything to the blender except the quest bar and blend.
I cut up the bar and rolled it into balls like peanut butter cookie doughs.
It came out a little thicker then the picture because I let it sit for a little. SO I put it in the freezer for another 30 minutes.

Finished product before I out it back in the freezer:

this was thick creamy delicious banana ice cream simple to make. You can add any toppings to it
    Macros
    calories 355
    carbs 39g
    protein 39g
    fat 8 g
    about 8-9 grams are fiber.
If you took out the quest bar it would be about 100 calories less and 10-11 carbs less along with 10 grams of protein

Banana and pb2 peanut butter cups

    heres the ingredients:
    dash of water
    giants sports banana protein powder
    pb2

Take half of the scoop stir in a few drops of water till it gets a brownie batter like consistency. Sprinkle some pb or pb2 in my case on top and place it in the freezer.Let it freeze for 20-30 minutes. then do that again on top of your previous pbcup. MIne didn't come out amazing since I didn't have cupcake foils and used a measuring cup instead.

the protein has a great taste when cooked with and eaten by itself in these frozen pb cup treats. Great banana flavor and doesn't taste artificial. This recipe I should of used regular peanut butter but I already ate too many fats and its a high carb day.

They were extremely easy to make just a little water and a freezer. peanut butter would of been much better to really get that flavor, The banana is awesome and out of the ordinary.

edit: stay tuned for banana bread next.

    banana bread

Originally this was suppose to be banana bread but I didn't have a loaf pan and it didn't rise as high as expected so it turned out to be banana bread brownies.
    Macros whole thing 812 calories F9 C96 P88
    1tsp baking powder
    1/4 cup whole wheat flour
    1/2 cup instant oatmeal
    2 scoops giant sport banana
    1/2 cup cottage cheese
    1tbsp cinnamon
    1tbsp stevia
    1/2 cup egg whites
    1.5 medium bananas
Mix all dry and wet ingredients separately. Blend the wet ingredients together then slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in a blender. I added the bananas just after mixing the wet ingredients.

I then baked it in a pan at 350 degrees for 30 min. The time may vary the size of the pan or oven you use.

    divided into 8 brownies and each brownie contains cals 101.5 F 1.125 P 11 C 12

only 7 brownies here since I ate one right away and yes they were delicious.

so I tried out the protein in almond milk unflavored/unsweetened. sorry no pics this time finished it too fast. It tasted good but gave it more of a vanilla flavor after the initial banana. It was definitely creamier and thicker more like a milkshake then when it was in water. Though I actually prefer it in water since you get more the great banana flavor and it comes out with a good texture that way as well. Overall This protein is great and definitely would recommend it to others. I prefer this flavor over the normal chocolate and vanilla and is something that you look forward to drinking or mixing into foods.

I basically gave this protein 10/10 in every category taste, mixability, texture, smell, profile
I sent my form 's in the other day but decided ill add another recipe one of my favorites.

    Giant sports banana protein cheesecake

    So the profile is
    calories 1051
    Fat 8
    carbs 119
    protein 136
    fiber 25
this is for the whole cheesecake including the crust. the crust is optional but adds fiber and carbs.

    recipe
16 ounces fat free cream cheese
    2 scoops banana protein
    1tsp lemon juice
    1tsp vanilla extract
    3 servings (9 tbsp)of egg whites
    1/2 cup zero calorie sweetner
2.5 servings of 80 calorie fiber one chocolate cereal (for crust)
2 ounces unsweetened almond milk for crust

First thing I did was grind up the cereal in to a flour. I then added almond milk little by little till it turned into a dough after mixing. Sprayed non fat cooking spray in a pie tin. spread out the dough on the bottom. I placed it in the toaster oven until crispy. I took the cream cheese ( when it was soft) putit into the blender and blended the sweetner. I then added some water, egg whites ,and slowly added the protein powder. Lastly added the lemon juice and the vanilla extract this was mixed until the batter was all uniform and is thick but not as thick as a brownie batter would be it is more watery. I then put it into the pie tin with the chocolate cereal crust and baked in oven at 350 for 40 min. the time will vary do to the size of the tin you use and big your oven is. I used a pie tin 6 inch in diameter. Then set it on counter to cool for 30 min then put it fridge to set for at least 4 hours.

    Final product:

will try to get a picture sliced up so can see it with crust. I also may add bananas.

    and the final product

finished my macros for the day by the time this cooled and was ready to slice. I know rookie mistake but it will taste soo much better tomorrow.
