There are 4 pro shows left before the O at the moment...
WINGS OF STRENGTH IFBB CHICAGO July 5‐6
IFBB PBW CHAMPIONSHIPS August 9‐10
IFBB EUROPA DALLAS August 16‐17
IFBB NORDIC PRO CHAMPIONSHIPS August 31st
http://www.ifbbpro.com/wp-content/up...rocalendar.pdf
Now straight to the facts...
There are 11 pros qualified for the Olympia, plus the 5 for the point standings and 4 pro shows for qualification which means at the most 20 bbers will compete at the O. A good size, less athletes means more time for comparisons between them.
Toney Freeman raped the point system and has secured his place for top spot to qualify. Joj as well in 2nd. These 2 have done nearly every show since now and last year's O.
The point system is too close for ben p, roelly and ed nunn to be certain if they qualify. If they don't continue competing and collecting points, one of them might get knocked off the standings.
The following seasoned competitors from last year's O and ed nunn still have to earn their qualification:
Ben Pakulski
Roelly Winklaar
Ed Nunn
Hidetada Yamagishi
Michael Kefalianos
Evan Centopani
Lionel Beyeke
Ronny Rockel
Essa Hassan Obaid
Fred Smalls
Flexonline's website has Roelly, Lionel and Fred Smalls aiming at Chicago
http://www.flexonline.com/ifbb/ifbb-...icago-pro-2013
I have no clue whats going on at tampa (their website is solid). Evan said on MD he's looking to do that show. I heard Antione V might do it as well!
Europa Dallas has an even more solid list of info. Its so good i cant even post the vast information they have, so much!
The Nordic pro has this
"The level of the competition will be very high as it was in 2012. All the 2012 top names have agreed to come back and compete, like the winner Roelly Winklaar, Robert Piotrkowicz, Ronny Rockell, Baito Abbaspour, Alexey Lesukov... In addition, there will be more very big names who are warming up for the Olympia or who wants to make sure their appearance at the Olympia!"
http://www.nordicfitnessexpo.com/nordic_pro?lang=1
With only 4 shows to win and 3 spots on the point system mathematically achievable, which 7 (maybe less!) of these bbers can potentially make it to the Olympia? Do we even care?
Ben Pakulski
Roelly Winklaar
Ed Nunn
Hidetada Yamagishi
Michael Kefalianos
Evan Centopani
Lionel Beyeke
Ronny Rockel
Essa Hassan Obaid
Fred Smalls
Steve Kuclo is also prepping for a show!

Good thread.
I'm not sure who will qualify, but I do think its great that the size of the competitors list will stay between 15-20. I can only hope that the same thing happens for the enormous amount of female divisions. We would be very fortunate if the cut down the female competitors list (bikini, female bodybuilders, fitness, figure, fitness figure, figure fitness, bikini bodybuilders, bikini fitness, etc) to about 150 competitors. That way the night show will only take seven hours.Frustrated at bodybuilding? Read my rant:

I thought about that as well but didn't care enough to figure out just how many athletes would compete at the O in total. There are still a few shows left in each division. Although at first glance the ifbb has reduced the numbers overall for sure. There were like 30 people doing the bikini and fitness 2 years ago, so time consuming to watch uhh

The list says people who qualified and HOW they qualified. The reason for qualification attributed to Dexter is that he was top 5 at last year's O. However, even if he hadn't, he qualified for all future Olympias in 2008 by winning the Mr. Olympia that year. So that part of the post is technically incorrect.

There are only 3 shows left to earn a qualification and 3 pros left to enter the point standings, what will happen? Will roelly continue competing winning the remainder of the shows crushing the hopes and dreams of other competitors hoping to compete at the olympia?
On an interesting point of view. ben could potentially qualify without competing since roelly has been removed from the point standings.
