    how much weight(dumbbells) should a 16 year old boy weight so to be safe?

    There is no set weight. If a sixteen year old boy can curl 45's but with perfect form, then I don't see a problem. If a sixteen year old boy tries to curl 45's and is swinging the weight up and cheating, then I see a problem. There is no set weight, everybody is different.
