Damn, even anti-broscience is broscience.
He didn't even say better for what, maybe he's interested in performance.
Some people perform well on an empty stomach, others like some food an hour before, or half an hour.
The bigger the meal, the bigger the gap I need between the meal and the workout.
I also like to eat soon after, is it better for body composition? Don't really care enough, I want to hit my macros and feel energized for the workout and as importantly, for the rest of my day.
I have a nice big appetite within an hour or 2 of the workout, seems like the best possible time for me to eat. I might have a snack or a drink straight after the workout too. Get that appetite going even more.
If you care enough, check the sticky Pre, During, & Postworkout, there's an update at the bottom.

I'd say almost 99.9% of people eat 'close after to gain', considering that the 'anabolic window' and need for post-workout nutrition is more or less completely cancelled by pre-workout nutrition; and in the case of a individual training fasted, there is a supercompensatory response once they consume their post-workout meal. Quoting Alan Aragon;
People really underestimate how amazing our bodies really are.
