Phuckin pissed. Neighbor's dog killed my chickens. What do?

Get a pitbull. Raise it with the chickens so that it thinks it's a chicken too.

When the neighbour's dog comes the pitbull will think it is coming after his family.

i did bro, i did. spent 300$ on fencing, the good stuff. and not going to make the neighbor pay bc shes already struggling with money enough. I can afford new chickens, I just dont want my pets killed again.

What I cant justify is the neighbors dog coming into my backyard (its right outside my garage door) and breaking into the coop killing my chickens. I have a great dog too, but he is well trained and doesn't kill. He pulled a opposum off the tree last week just to look at it.

normally i would have no idea how to help you op, but i just got done watching braveheart so i have some great suggestions.

1. first buy some new chickens. we need good chickens for the battle ahead
2. overthrow the small dog outpost outside the chicken's village. this will be easier if you let one of the hens die to the dogs, preferably a hero chicken's chicken wife
3. gain the support of the fellow chicken clans through courage on and off the battlefield
4. buy a giant boat and ship all the chickens to england. york needs to be sacked
5. fight a bunch more battles and sh!t
6. phuck french princess
7. get head cut off

and that should solve the dog problem. and that way you wont have to build a fence cuz thats a giant pain in the ass

First off I'd get the neighbour to pay for your new chickens. Second I'd tell the neighbour that if his/her dog steps foot near your yard again that you'll be forced to shoot it to save your animals. That way you can't get in trouble because you have informed the neighbour of the consequences of their dog entering your yard, and it's their responsibility to stop their dog entering.

Don't kill the dog, it's not the dog's fault. As domesticated as dogs may be, they are still descendents of wolves, so sometimes their instincts kick in. I had a really nice dog and our neighbors had chickens that would always escape and run into OUR yard. My dog would obviously kill them, but they never did tell us anything, because it was their fault to begin with. In your case, it's all due to the ****ty owner who doesn't take care of her dog. If anything, I would call animal control and explain the situation and how you suspect that she neglects the dog? Don't know if feeding the dog human food will suffice, but if you can find other ways in which she neglects the dog, then they might look into it. Or even calling the cops, I would think.

Where in NC are you? Im in Brevard. Now a good chicken girl in Tuxedo, south of Hendersonville. They are awesome. I was just out watching the new guys learn how to use the ramp for the first time. So funny.

See updated posts. New run is built. Spent a lot of $$ on 1/2in steel hardware cloth. completely surrounded even roofed. Got it buried too.
