    Keto and Carb Supplements

    Hey guys,

I'm currently on a keto diet with the aim of burning fat. I also want to gain more muscle mass. Obviously one needs carbs to facilitate this so I'm wondering what the best method of doing this is without kicking myself out of ketosis.

I was trying Kinetica Complete but it has a lot of sugar. I'm wondering if there are any alternatives or else should I continue with this stuff but at a more strategic time (pre/post workout)?

Read in the stickies about a TKD diet. Sounds like that's exactly what you need.

Perhaps I can ask why carbs are needed for muscle growth. I understand energy but what do they offer for repair and recovery?

why is that "obvious"? Carbs aren't essential for any function in the body. Insulin production, growth hormone etc? Well even their role in muscle building is debatable.

Carbs do make bulking/gaining muscle easier, but aren't necessary. Carbohydrates ARE essential for some, but not all, brain function. However, your body can make glucose from fat and protein in your diet. Carbohydrates are important in hormone regulation as well.

While I believe that the emphasis on carbohydrates in today's culture is overstated, I don't believe we should totally disregard carbohydrates as an energy source, when appropriate. Science has come a long way, but we don't know everything yet.
