Since the tkd and ckd diets allow you to temporarily step out of ketosis, is it possible to make minor gains in strength? I am asking because I want to start a new workout plan which specifically builds your muscles in areas to help with posture. This is part 4 (the workout plan section) of the article I am reading if anyone is curious: http://www.tnation.com/free_online_a...o_more_part_iv
Thanks!

Has anyone made strength gains on the targeted ketogenic diet?

I have made strength gains on a TKD. In the last 6-7 weeks I've raised my max as well as rep weight for just about every muscle group. The only thing I haven't made too much of an improvement on is pushing myself in cardio, which is expected (due to having to be in LISS/MISS to avoid catabolising muscle mass for fuel. Above 70%ish hearth rate your body demands glucose I believe).

I have grown considerably since I started keto back in February, size-wise and strength-wise. CKD is amazing tool for recomping, truly never had better progress, not counting noob gains of course. It works both ways, small progress is strength is amplified by body weight loss, things like pushups, pullups or dips will be going through the roof.

I just PRed 315 squat 2 days ago. Previous was 300 while CKD. I swapped to TKD for only a few weeks, plus caloric surplus and I am making gains.
