and baron corbin is teaming with tye dillinger against finn balor and nakamura. corbin is wearing a shirt and for the first five minutes of the match, the crowd is chanting "take your shirt off!" so finally he does, and he has another shirt on underneath it.

This guy is great.

does anyone feel like when they "create" a new superstar with these weird vignettes it always bombs big time, and that's the same way they try to do things on the main roster where it also bombs big time? because audiences are more cynical these days.
The people who are over on NXT... either they came in as established stars from elsewhere, and that's different, but the others are guys who just went out and put on good matches that people noticed. American Alpha for example... yeah there was a little backstage story telling to compliment the live action but basically they went out, put on good matches, gave people a little reason to be interested and BOOM that's how you get over in 2016.
When they package a guy like they've done with "the drifter" and what we can safely predict is likely to happen with "no way jose"... not so much with the crowd getting on board.

The commentators said something about No Way Jose being a capoeira guy. If he incorporated some capoeira moves into his moveset this gimmick would have been at least tolerable.

But I gotta say I was surprisingly entertained by his little match. Low ceiling gimmick, yes, but if used sporadically he could have a place. Besides it was a million times better than Mojo.

I was thinking the same thing. Smh at Eva Marie's borderline Hogan/Sting Starrcade 1997 match layout. Lucha Underground has moved ahead of NXT imo, in terms of weekly TV.

Struck me as funny how often there's a big "holy ****" reaction to a former TNA star debuting... that whole "this guy has potential thank god he's come to a decent company where they'll use him right" thing... and that company being WWE. Used to be the opposite am i right?

Women's triple threat was actually pretty good. Wasn't expecting it to be great but it was alright.

Tag match was good.

Expect Aries & Nakamura at takeover will be very very good indeed.

No Way Jose actually got over somehow. Still not buying the dance gimmick, but the guy has a good look so this might help him.

don't kid yourself, he is only over with the full sail *******s. I could not stop cringing every time they did a crowd shot during his music with all those supreme gentleman attempting to dance along, chit was srsly painful

this show peaked late 2014/early 2015 and its been downhill ever since. the non stop chanting and singing, 40 year old men wearing bayley shirts, tna guys debuting every single taping, overweight redditors dancing along with the wrestlers, and now any over character will be plucked away to smackdown/raw so there really is no reason to keep watching. pretty boy floyd was right all along...stay safe brahs

Eh, it's still not a bad hour of wrestling. I'm still watching every week, just not paying as much attention as before. Draft might actually be a good thing, so they can get all the veterans out and start fresh with some new indie signings and the developmental guys.

Isn't the first part of this an exaggerated version of what I said earlier in this thread?

If anything, I think the draft might be good for NXT. They'll lose some top talent and they should, but at the same time, they'll lose some of these TNA/indy darlings that are inexplicably in developmental and taking up TV time. I can only hope that more tours and all that will take down this full sail crowd...I've been on them being obnoxious for awhile now.

NXT is still a good show. 1 hour is the perfect length for this type of thing imo.

Really good episode this week IMO.
Bailey & Alexa had a great match and the 3 falls tag match was excellent.
Alexa has really stepped up in my opinion.
