    Elliptical VS bike?

Hows it going, looking to purchase an elliptical or a stationery bike with a virtual screen that lets you see the scenery while you ride, I am wondering if someone can recommend a few good ones. Also which is better an elliptical or bike, I was looking at the Nordic Track elite 17.7 elliptical is it any good? Thank you.

It comes down to personal preference. Choose whichever one you're most likely to use long term.

One of the things about bikes is that it's sometimes difficult to find a saddle that feels comfortable when ridden for an hour or more each day. (I've purchased nearly a dozen saddles for my mountain bike while trying to find one that works for me.) Obviously, elliptical machines don't have this issue because you're standing.

I've got both an elliptical and a stationary bike in my basement gym. Wife insisted on the elliptical. I prefer the stationary bike, and it gets more use in general.

I found there are really three types of Ellipticals.
    * Front wheel, which put a bit of a strain on my knees
    * Rear wheel, which jarred my hip
    *And then Nordictrac's A.C.T. "Center Double Wheel"...Awesome!!!
I've been using it for a couple of years now and just love it:
    Very small footprint 51" L x 34 1/2" w,Adjustable Stride,very smooth and very quiet.
    Check it out

Cycling for extended periods of time can cause erectile dysfunction, due to the saddle compressing arteries and nerves leading to the wang.

That's enough info to make MY mind up.

I have Sole E35 - it's a good solid machine, really heavy and sturdy. Price is kind of expensive new though, in the 1300-1500 range. Other option is to go with a used Precor.

Thanks price doesn't really matter, the reason why I liked the nordictrack was because it has the virtual trainer and hd videos while you run. But I heard nordictrack is not a good product sadly, can't really find a machine like the elite 17. Thanks again.

I prefer the normal bike, but maybe in the elliptical do more, since you do not stop and you can put the difficulty you want.

You don't need those bells and whistles on your treadmill or elliptical equipment. Just get your android or iPhone and put it over the display. Think about it. Is there any chance those displays will be anywhere comparable or have anywhere close to the features of a 600 phone /tablet? Just focus on function. Display is for workout data only
