Hey Guys,
I am looking for suggestions/advice/opinions on the best slow-digesting "overnight" protein. Specifically I've been looking at these two options:
1. MuscleTech Phase 8 touts their protein as being an "8 hour" mix from 6 different protein sources - I also think it mixes well/tastes delicious.
2. Then there is the good old standard 100% Gold Standard Casein option, which I think doesn't mix that well, and doesn't taste quite as good. Actually in my opinion it mixes horribly - very clumpy and grainy.
Phase 8 tastes great, but I really am looking from something that will digest over 8+++ hours, what do you guys think?

I love the phase8 and think it tastes great so I would go with that, not sure how realistic the 8 hours is though for phase8.

Generally speaking, I 100% agree with you. That being said, I'm on an intermittent fasting routine right now and would prefer the slowest possible digesting protein in my last meal of the day (~8/9pm) as I do not eat again the next day until around 2/3pm (and workout at 10am w just some BCAAs).
Obviously there are pros and cons to fasting, training fasted, etc. But this is really just about whether or not Phase 8 > straight up Casein type thing.

Although you don't "need" either whey protein or casein protein when I don't get enough protein from food I prefer to go with ON Creamy Vanilla. I like to Mix it up with 1/4 cup almond milk, 10 ounces of water, throw in some cinnamon then put it in the freezer for 30 minutes or so. Comes out nice and thick and keeps me full until the morning.
Just my $.02

You do not need it for overnight.
But a blend usually tastes 10x better lolKick.com/beetoxic

I agree with the cassein doesn't mix well. I have some chocolate and mix it with milk. The taste isn't that bad but the chunks take a little getting use to. I have tried muscle tech (not the Phase 8), it tasted about the same and it worked. I would still go with the cassein! Mix it with some Whey in a blender.
