So pretty much I've been using Chuck's for a while but have been thinking of picking up some Asics. Has anyone around here used Asics before? Are they good for pulling and squatting? Also, if you've had chucks, too, then how do they compare?
Thanks!

matflex 3 > chucks by a mile
It's no contest. I lifted in chucks for a couple years and recently got some asiscs.. they're great for deadlifting.. actually have grip.. It's my deadlift/gym shoe now
I only squatted in them once and not heavy so I can't comment on that, I use do-wins right now.Recovering fatass

For pulling I love the Asics. For squatting I prefered the chucks. I point my feet forward more on the squats and push out hard. I feel like my feet want to role more in the wrestling shoes and need a better more defined base. For deadlifts my feet are pointed out slightly more and allows more force going out towards the toes and don't have the issue of feeling like my feet want to role.

I love the asics for deadlifting. They are grippy beyond belief and very flat to the ground. I can't squat in them though. I used to, and I wore out 2 pairs in the same spot (outer top half of the foot) in a short amount of time. Love chucks for squats. I think you need both

I have a pair of matflex and really like them. I definitely can see how they could blow out from constant heavy squatting though. I've been thinking of grabbing something like the do-wins for squats.
I am going to die under a heavy barbell one day and it's going to be f*cking awesome--HamburgerTrain
