Martin apparently attacked a person he did not know and did not know was armed, that's a stupid mistake and he paid for it. What if Zimmerman were unarmed but had 15 years Krav Maga and MMA training and killed Martin after Martin attacked him?
Fights happen in school, but it's not normal. It is not normal behavior to attack some one, WTF is wrong with you?!?!
As far as what Martin deserved? If a blindfolded person walks across the interstate, do they deserve the death penalty? If an MMA fighter dies in a fight did he deserve death? If a race car driver dies racing on the track, does he deserve to die? If a tree falls on a lumberjack, does he deserve to die?
What we all deserve has nothing to do with what we get. Some work their asses off for 60 years and don't have sh*t to show for it. Some never work a day in their lives but collect, undeservingly, food stamps, housing, welfare, etc...
Martin made a stupid mistake, he died for it.I'm not saying we should kill all the stupid and lazy people, just that we should eliminate warning labels and welfare, let the problem take care of itself.
I do not support military action in Syria.

The quotes are for emphasis. All of what you're making absolute on is in fact speculation. Your attack, is my self-defense. One or the other will be determined after the trial.
The imminent danger is a judgment call made by Zimmerman which now he has to account for, and prove to a jury. As it should be.🎥

Well its apparent the Trayvon side of this discussion is losing their arguments badly here. If the actual case goes this way, Zimmerman will walk.

Curious as to why so many people ITT seem so personally tied to this case...it's like your team is in the super bowl x 1000....
Is it the race angle (either way) that peaks your interest?

Martin knows how to pick his girlfriend too! Seems Martin is the racist not Zimmerman!
What can I say, this is simply riveting testimony, it is Witness # 8, the female witness who in a March 20, 2012, presser said her testimony blows Zimmerman's self-defense claim out of the water. Crump said she "connects the dots."
There is so much to this testimony I don't know where to begin. I'll just provide some bullet points:
- Her name is Rachel Jeantel. She has gone by the names "Dee Dee" and "Diamond."
- She is 19. In fall 2013 she returns to school, she will be in the 12th grade.
- Her mom is Haitian and from there. She lives with her mom.
- By her testimony (on direct) she has arguably proven that it is Trayvon Martin who was the racist. He described Zimmerman as a "creepy ass cracka," "*****" and other racist terms. She testifies that "creepy ass cracker" meant a "white individual."
- Her testimony established Trayvon Martin was bitter, angry, and the aggressor that night.
- She eventually will prove (see West's cross examination) that just about everything Crump said in his March 20, 2012, presser was a lie. (We have been saying that since April of last year.

I've been a strong supporter for gun rights and rights for self-defense for years. You'll see me post in almost every gun thread. More than half of my repps have come from them.
However the Martin supporters, you won't see them posting in a thread where the same thing happens but the races reversed. That should tell you something.Last edited by Dragger; 06-26-2013 at 05:01 PM.

Wow....in the renactment video which couldn't have been much after the incident, Zimmerman says he was the one screaming for help.
Z still has the bandaids on his head, and this was probably well before all the evidenced 911 calls were gone through etc.Life is easy when you take personal responsibility

For me it is. It represents the 2nd Amendment and sends a message to criminals that go around attacking, assaulting, robbing, raping, etc... I've worked most my life, have almost always had a job or two since I was 14, worked hard 20 years, have a family, and I'll be damned if some lazy punk breaks into my house and threatens my family or steals my car or property that I worked hard for just because he's too lazy.
At 18 I had nothing but a $700 car, no home, nothing. Lived in my car, joined the Army, and thankful for all I have.I'm not saying we should kill all the stupid and lazy people, just that we should eliminate warning labels and welfare, let the problem take care of itself.

The biggest IRL debate/argument I got into with somebody last year when this incident was relatively recent was because this particular individual absolutely insisted that violence against another person is never acceptable. Period. He believes, quite literally as we discussed this, that even a woman locked in her house when her abusive ex husband showed up drunk and armed with a butcher knife kicked the door down and ran at her saying he was going to ****ing rape and murder her would not be justified in using a firearm to defend herself. He simply believes that anybody who would own a handgun, let alone carry one, is evil and deserves to be put in prison for life.
There are people who think like that, some not as drastically, but the same principle, who automatically take up for Martin.
There are others who use race as an excuse to automatically take up for Martin (even though evidence indicates Martin was the racist one involved in this).
I dislike both of the above positions, and will argue against them.

Farley, you are however, very willing to just make things up in your attempts to support what you feel is right. I can't respect that.

I'm into this case because most of the evidence supports Zimmermans story and the entire prosecutions case is circumstantial. The case is not completely cut and dry but the facts show Zimmerman has defensive injuries and the bullet was shot in an upward angle clearly supporting Zimmermans versions over the circumstantial evidence of the prosecution. Even if some of Zimmermans accounts are off, he still was being beaten up and shot while Martin was on top, which proves self-defense to me. If somebody is on top of me, who I just called the police on, I fear death/bodily harm.
So it boils down to I like to argue with other people.Life is easy when you take personal responsibility

That's him trying to assert that I'm an "admitted troll" so he can discredit me. He refuses to back that claim up, or apologize for it. I'm been on him for PAGES about it. A few pages back he was involved in a total miss-statement of self-defense laws that he just moved past without any acknowledgment. There was another thread a few weeks ago where he went on for pages trying to claim that laws granting one person a monopoly on a certain kind of speech, "wasn't" a restriction on free speech. He did this because he cares more about "winning" for his argument than being right.
