Hi.
I'm just wondering whether you could critique my squat vid below. I've realised after filming it for the first time that the depth isn't very good and I need to go deeper which may mean lifting less weight. Apart from the pitiful depth could you give me any other pointers? Also apologies but i'm unsure how to embed the vid.

You know its time to do something about your body when you are getting bertstared on the regular
its not how much u can lift, its rather how much you look like you can lift.

It's not terrible, try to go a bit deeper if your flexibility allows while maintaining good form.
I can see your knees cave a bit but it looks like you were trying to force them out which is good, just keep at it.
Get a better spotter, he looked lost. :P
Proper squat spot
On the road to 1250
Train consistently, move iron with purpose, eat well, sleep well and achieve.

thanks for embedding!
Yeh I do try to keep knees from caving! I'll keep working on going lower with my depth. In regards to the spotter he's a good lad, but i'll inform him that about proper spotting technique thanks!Last edited by TheSpecial1; 05-22-2013 at 01:17 PM.

Getting a spotter on the same page with you is big.
The point of a spotter in the squat is to keep you from falling forwards or backwards and provide a little bit up upward momentum.
When the weight gets heavy and you're too fatigued to get it back up, you tend to fall forwards.
That's why you see the spotters arms under the lifters arms and in front of their chest.
The second the weight starts to move against the lifter, the spotter will basically pull the lifter into their chest and assist with upward momentum.Last edited by 71Avido; 05-22-2013 at 01:43 PM.
