why do people think there is more intelligent life out there than humans?

4.5 billion years of steady progress and advance, yet people think there is miraculously a more intelligent life form out there than the human being ?

    mind=blown

people need to stop watching stupid hollywood movies and think with their own brain, do some research about earth and how chances were 1:100000000000000 after the big bang that life could even exist on this planet. I'm not saying there is no life on other planets, bacteria, yes , more intelligent than humans ? nope.

Sorry mate he's not stupid, he's entitled to his own opinion and its perfectly valid opinion to believe that there may be other intelligent life out there. Given the fact that our universe is huge.

for life to exist there has to be ingredients so unless the ingredients have not interacted with each other, there will be no life.

Yes, suns or stars exist in other other galaxies and even in our own galaxy milky way. if there's no interaction of ingredients life will not exist. it takes some incredible force to do this incredible thing.

I really can't be close-minded enough to believe that we are the only intelligent evolved life form out there. It is very possible, which is kind of depressing in a way when you think about it, but at the same time, I personally doubt it. For all we know there could be some 12-armed alien in some other part of the universe discussing the very same thing at this very moment in time.

    Supposed?

Life isn't sacred or special, if the right conditions are met, then life will most likely develop, regardless of where you're located in the Universe. With the sheer amount of planets and galaxies present in the observable Universe, probabilistically it's safe to say that there's life out there. I'm not talking about intelligent life, which obviously takes longer to evolve (though it's still a short amount of time in the grand scheme of things), but still, you get the point.

I believe a famous scientist made the calculations, don't remember who exactly.

The same can be said for why people dont think theres life out there.

Astronomers believe that for every star in the sky there are 3 earth type planets that could harbour life out there. If this doesnt make you question if theres other life out there then i dont know what will.

i agree with you and the OP...chances for life to exist are like ~ 1 to 1 billion. if you think that's good enough than go ahead and believe in it.

OP just refrain from mental work involving anymore difficulty than composing a grocery list altogether because you're fukking retarded. The odds of us being the most intelligent life-form in the universe are laughable, especially considering people like OP live among us.

there are likely other life forms in the universe, so why would they all be less intelligent than us?

there could be future intelligent life out there that's still in its developmental processes. By the time they're as evolved as us or past us then we'd be long gone and they'll be sending out machines to scour what's left of our planet and find things that they believed once may or may not have harbored life.

I'm at a loss for words. Your words are eloquently put while completely disregarding so many factors such as.... What do scientists with much more background on this subject say? They say that the possibilities of us being the only intelligent life are comparable to impossible. I won't delve into sightings and accounts by government officials

people need to stop watching stupid hollywood movies and think with their own brain, do some research about earth and how chances were 1:100000000000000 after the big bang that life could even exist on this planet. I'm not saying there is no life on other planets, bacteria, yes , more intelligent than humans ? nope.
another species could have 5 or 6 or 10 billion years of steady progress and advance

    misc is crazy man

somebody has a valid point bcuz the oddz of randomly creating life, even if all things are right (temperature, water, all elemtns), the chances are sao tiny that out of normal elements something like DNA, a replicator, what is the only thing for complicated life forms to come out, does happen somewhere
and then the life form has to gain a consciousness, nobody knows how that works right now
u are like "dont be feking arrogant, there has to be other intelligent life thats more intelligent than us, u morroorn hurrrrrr"

and if somebody thinks we are created by a big bearded man u are okay with it

    dat dere english hehehe
    inb4 do u even english

    *neba forget*
