So I have ETFs in America, Middle East (concentration on Qatar and *****), and Europe. Any other ETFs you guys would recommend looking into? I'm glad to be 25% seperated upon these 4 and feel much more at ease now going this route then picking my own stocks until I gain much more experience....I haven't done much research into world markets. If I recall correctly Japan is not suppose to be doing so well but other asian countries like singapore and south korea have more upside?

Watching V for a breakout, it took months for it to happen last time so not sure on the time frame. Above 182.50 and it should rocket.
Still think markets might test that 1600 level again or close just to confirm we have the power to move up.
edit: Visa loves me after my weekend in vegas, no wonder why they do so forking well.Last edited by GabrielNovar; 06-10-2013 at 07:34 AM.

I'm wrapping up my most recent focus and was wondering if we have anyone that considers themselves a "China Expert" and has any books to suggest or websites/blogs (no not muddy waters)

I do...that how I hit some nice moves in Visa/MA/HD
edit: go back on MA chart for 9 months, if you bought when it dipped under 30 you had pretty much a 100% chance of making money within 1-2 months. Now run a call spread and you got a 200-500% gain within a month.
Rinse/repeat with v/ma and you don't have to work for 4-5 years

Standard parameters, but I combine that with the A/D line/MACD crossover and I use marketsmith to validate my pivots/sell/buy areas.
Also I only "trade" V/MA/SBUX/BLK/GOOG/PCLN....they have been proven to me. Where is fail is shorting/buying puts. Never really worked out for me.
so if I post I bought a put spread don't follow me into it lol
edit: example check my earlier post V looked prime for an upside breakout and so far it appears to be doing ok
Yea everyone has their own style/trading as long as it works great. I was getting too complicated in my analysis, I just keep it as simple as possible.

Anyone here only trade etfs? I was back testing my trading system and it seems to work just as well or better trading the SSO 2X S&P500 ETF. I usually trade the IBD 50 but it looks like trading the SSO is a better choice, less turn over, less commission and most likely better performance.

I was trading the 3x SP500 etfs for a little bit about 3 weeks, I couldn't take the swings you may have a better feel for it than I do though, I pretty much broke even after all was said and done. make sure you are using your system on the underlying index and not the ticker you are using.

Good luck, my only concern on this would be that you are buying in when they are all very high, I know you are a buy and hold but dont be afraid to sell and buyback when you see your profits slipping.
Best advice I can give oyu is get out of USAA for investing! You wont find anyone out there that S's the D of USAA more than me, Ive been a member literally since the day I was born (dad was AF), I have my insurance, and every possible form of my financials (credit, check, savings) are with them with the exception of investments. What broke me from them was finding out they didn't have trailing stops. I went to share builder, was very happy with them, until I got pegged with pattern day trading and it really took wind out of my sails. Now I am with Interactive brokers, a tough user interface to get the hang of but I like it so far (lol but I haven't gotten my first bill yet so ill withhold judgement.

Lol good try brah. It's just one variable of many when looking at a stock. I know you're one of those fundamentals guys, but i'm not hatin' on how u trade, ya dig?
You make $ doing it your way, and I make $ doing it mine. It's all good.
Edit: Just saw where u said u look @ charts and trade. Nonetheless it's all good.Last edited by KevVandersloot; 06-10-2013 at 04:56 PM.

Also posted on the Penny Stock Thread if anybody is trading FNMA:
Interesting articles came out for FNMA after hours including a $41 billion dollar lawsuit against the US government for screwing shareholders in 2008:
