depends on the region, but most commonly people here have problems with visitors from Caucasus and Middle Asia (they're like mexicans in US here)
if you mean street crime, Russia is located somewhere in the top 10 considering homicide, so yes, it's very high and gonna get higher.
I live in Moscow, I don't drink or hang around at nights (except for running in the park), so street crime doesn't affect me anyhow.
well the worst thing is that society is very passive and atomised (though it started to change gradually since 2009)
the best is that massive uprising is unevitable in the end (don't think it will take more than 5-10 years period)
