If you were shelling out $1000, you'd listen to the crossfit "hack" too. LOL
Like I said above, crossfit is good for beginners. After that, move on. People do find it fun and alot of the time the "social" aspect of it plays a big role. You work out as a group and alot of people who work all day and have no time to meet people see this as a good thing.
phuking up the fitness industry? Yeah, it probably is. Nothing we can do about it though but complain.

Yes it's a group think mentality. I cringe at that. IDK I might sound super passionate about it.
It attracts those who find fitness as a 'chore', hence why I equate it as a fad in the industry and I hope it goes. The affiliate w/ Crossfit that was offering The Paleo Solution grilled Crossfit as a whole. Used to be good until it blew up and people were getting newbies doing advanced lifts without learning proper form thus getting injured.
Nah P90X is a good intro to fitness I think actually.
back to the superiority of Crossfitters. Ask any of the regular posters in my thread - Misc Strength Crew. Linzzz used to post there periodically with her smug Crossfit comments and argue about lifts to people in my thread that competed in strength sports or are athletes. Needless to say she doesn't post in there any more.A hit was sent, from the President, to raid your residence /

As is Dave Tate, Marc Ripptoe, etc. Yes I'm aware of that and SOME Crossfit gyms do it right because they don't have to adhere to the WODs, etc. Some are simply franchises. I get that, but many take that knowledge from the industry best and somehow mess things up.
Also please don't patronize me by quoting the strength sports quote.

We need a new ideology with the core values of reason, honesty, science and secular progress over the older traditions of religion, superstition and dogmatic faith that have long defined humanity. We will never be free to progress and advance until the last stone from the last church is cast down onto the last priest. And every equivalent.

Let me tell you brahs something...you think you have it bad having to deal with crossfitters at work/online....I actually have to share a gym with these people.
brb, can't do squats because there is a line of *******s doing deadlifts in the rack
brb, bout to do seated cable rows...where's the double-grip attachment? oh, crossfit *******s have it straddled over a chinup bar doing wacky pullups
brb, afraid to use stretching area in fear that I'll get hit by a medicine ball that's been ricocheted off a basketball hoopMardy Prat Crew

Anyway back on track
I'm a trainer OP and I compete for business with a local crossfit gym/box
Here's a thread I made on the subject, where lots of miscers who train at crossfit gave their opinions on what makes crossfit different (or not)

I always thought it was gay as phuck, but I went and did a workout for free at my cousins crossfit gym the other day and it's not even bad
The workout changes every day, this is the one I did
Warm up:
Jump rope for like 5 mins then an 800m run
Strength:
5x5 back squats going up in weight each set
Actual Workout:
400m run
30 box jumps on a 30" box
30 wall ball squats (squat with a 30lb medicine ball, throw it up above the 8' high line they have painted, catch, repeat)
Then you repeat 5 times as fast as you can, it was timed and there was a 30 min cap
Definitely not going to do much for you as far as bodybuilding/powerlifting goes but it's good for cardio and functional sh*t. Most miscers probably couldn't do it (srs)USMC
