Chocolate is really bad for your skin, so try to stay away from it, also try to consume more zinc. You can take zinc supplements or you can eat food like peanuts and pumpkin seeds. Roast beef also has a high zinc content.

If its hormonal, which for most teens it is, most things wont help but accutane or some method of controlling hormones. I am about to be 19 and mine is just now going away, no more acne but I do have some scars on my forehead. Hopefully a tan this summer will help even it out some

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, scars generally start to fade naturally within 6 to 18 months

I'd say give it 3 months before you start worrying. Normally takes over a month and just keeps going away from there. Definitely an amazing feeling seeing it disappear.

I know them feels. Its been terrible this winter, but I haven't really done anything about it.

Just started focusing on it a lot the last weeks or so, started tanning, cutting out milk for a couple weeks, taking doryx (prescribed antibacterial for acne).

also to op: stop being a pussy. acne is just acne and it will eventually go away. if friends leave you over that then be grateful - they don't sound like real friends. anyway there are people in the world with real problems - e.g. people starving to death in Africa and Iraqi civilians who had their limbs blown off.

oh, and just go on accutane already instead of being a depressing emo. don't delay it.

Dam so many feels in this thread, but i have the same problem with acne in the winter it just always gets so bad then when i tan in the summer it goes away. also I found out that milk is a pretty big part in acne for me. I started cutting it out and it started clearing up a bit. I guess milk a special growth chemical in it that causes your hormones to go crazy n stuff. (its why its fed to calves to help them grow)

Started accutane 3 1/2 weeks ago, face has exploded.
brb being a hermit for the next month til it clears up. Glad there's finally an end in sight now.

Seriously, go to the derm, he'll give you pills and it'll all be gone in literally 1-2 weeks.
