    lunges vs squat weight

    i do 50kg bb back squats at least full squat(below parallel)an 35 kg lunges in each leg for same reps....is it logical?
    i have see that all do the half weight of squat in lunges...thanks

    You doing those lunges fresh or after you already squatted?

    Im no expert only lifting a few months now, but I do 80kg squats and 40kg lunges so I hadn't actually realized that it was half of the squat weight but yeah I guess it makes sense since its just 1 leg.

    What Stoke said. You only use (roughly) one leg to lunge, and 2 to squat. i say roughly because the other leg does help a little.

    You can't really compare the two. They are different movements and your bodyweight is distributed differently through your legs.

    You need to stop thinking about this. Just lift and stop comparing numbers and ratios.
