I don't think there's much argument there, because most of what everyone is saying in their "bashing" is true. That and the my way or the highway everything I say is correct and the way to train attitude has probably gotten under the skin of lifters over the years.

Seems to me a lot of the hate on westside comes from a perspective of it being implemented in ways geared lifters do, so of course when viewed this way it's not optimal for raw lifting. I don't understand how board presses and box squats are examples of westside not being right for raw lifters - why would raw lifter cycle those lifts in anyways? If you're doing lifts on conjugate method that don't carryover to raw lifting, I would think you're not even doing the method correctly. to me it makes the argument useless.
most of the argument was about technique/form and movement selection not really on the method it seems. so it's all a ****ty argumentRecovering fatass

i don't understand why people care what others are doing. if you like it, incorporate it if it works for you or to see if it works for you. if you don't like it, who cares? it doesn't effect you. of course someone who is a proponent of a certain methodology is going to promote it, especially if there is money to be had with it, so the fact that people advertise/promote/suggest certain things is a no thinker... of course they do.
that's like how there was one main powerlifting gym here in omaha and since it shut down there has been two main gyms/groups of lifters just ranting/hating on each other and i don't understand it. just train and go on with your life.

I liked his views on some of that stuff, I just think framing it as "these are things I do opposite of westside" didn't make sense. Frame it as "I'm Dan G and here is what I do that has worked".
I certainly care what other lifters are doing or thinking about things...when those things are successful. I agree though, the fitness industry is full of TONS of individuals and groups that bash other ways of doing things simply because it isn't their own way. Sometimes its a result of promoting themselves or something, but even in local areas (I have experienced very similar instances as to what you mention with your gym(s)) in my area and it's always a head scratcher.Best Meet Lifts:

True fair enough. I wish they would get off that kick because they are some really strong guys with a lot of great knowledge. They don't need to try and compare themselves to anyone else. Like Doollas said they can just say hey it's me and this is what I did and do to kick ass.

I'm putting in my order for a belt within the next hour. Been pu$$yfooting too much. I've decided on 13mm/single prong. Only question now is Bob's belts which would be 8 weeks, or BestBelt which would be 1-2 weeks. I want the Bob Belt, but i'm prepping for a meet at beginning of August and I feel like getting used to a 13mm over only 1 legit heavy week prior to competing isn't a great idea. What do you guys think? I spoke with lady at Bob's and she said she may be able to push my order up to get it in 6-7, but not guaranteed.

westside has been going strong for a long time now, the only way i see people questioning the training style is with what jts is doing now. THey willl calm down soon im sure. With how arrogant louie was i dont care if their talk sounds like westside hate. Also i really only listen to dan and mike t, they have really good articles

No, but I should. I'm taking a lunch break then going outside to finish Jordan's handles. I'll get some pictures of them as soon as they are done. Before I post any pics of my log and circus dumbbell I need to smooth out the welds and paint them. Hopefully I'll get that done this week. This whole thing is just getting started...in fact, J is going to be my first sale.
Not sure, but I'll ask Derek tonight. He's the guy on my crew who is organizing this event.

Let me know if that video works for you.
I've never met the guy so I can't speak from personal experience, but I know a couple lifters here in SoCal who think he is a giant cocksucker and refuse to affiliate themselves with him. And no, they aren't Westside fanboys either.

may be nitpicking, but didn't dan talk about squatting narrower with more knee travel? he doesn't exactly squat like that...
