If you can simultaneously put on muscle while losing fat.... not an easy feat.

?!?! Actually it's the easiest feat in the world. Putting on muscle directly leads to fat loss especially if you have an energetic workout.

To the original poster what you want to do is convert the fat (bulky, large) into much smaller and compact muscle tissue. The muscles will leave you much smaller in those areas but pound for pound since muscle weighs more than fat, you will weigh about the same.

I've been losing bodyfat and maintain weight for the last few months. Im 5'10 180. I lift hard 5 days a week, do minimal cardio. I eat alot of CLEAN FOOD ONLY. In the last 2-3 months I went from 18% BF to 11% BF.
I think thats pretty good, I'm shooting for 8%, and I've decieded to never again go above 11%

Find out what your maintenance is (roughly the calories that you burn each day). Eat at that level while weight training and doing some cardio. After a while your body composition will change for the better. Your overall weight will probably be a little lower. When progress slows down, decide whether you want to lose more fat (cut) or gain more muscle (bulk).
It's better to be cynical than naive.
