    Box squats

With box squats someone told me recently that you shouldn't put any weight on the box or seat when you reach it as it can cause lower back pain. Is this true or false? I've been sitting down for two seconds before starting the positive portion of the rep but make sure that I don't sit down too fast or hard and that I don't fully relax when seated.
You know its time to do something about your body when you are getting bertstared on the regular

its not how much u can lift, its rather how much you look like you can lift.

Sit on the box/bench, explode up, 1 rep.

found a way of making my question simpler. When i'm seated on the box should I be using all my muscles still so that for instance if the box disappeared I wouldn't fall to the ground or should I let the box take some of the weight?

You should sit on the box but not relax your muscles. Watch some elitefts and westside videos to get a better understanding.

I'm guilty of that sh*t too, waiting for somebody to powder my nuts cuz I did 20 reps of whatever the **** on the bench. Big f*king deal. It is all relative." G Diesel
