Great lifts and you look huge in the still shots your wife took.

That may be the route I take. Have to see how the leg feels.
I consider my bench "decent" and competitive for sure...but over time hope to make it better
Thanks guys!
It was nice to have the family there for sure. I think it is the first time my wife "gets it". (meaning why I enjoy doing what I do). She told me she really enjoyed herself. The kids had fun too. While waiting to get on the bus this morning, I heard my daughter telling her friends about the meet this weekend. It was really cute.
Thanks for checking in man!
Time to now drop some weight! I am going to drop at least 10lbs. (a little late coming into summer). The good news is cutting does not affect my deads too much. My bench....that is another story! Anyway, I just want to feel good and I am not real comfortable where I am at right now. The 190's feels better to me.RAW lifts

Wow...thanks again guys! Glad I did the >35 proud!
No, as soon as I locked it, if you look close, he gave me the down command. I then decided to hold it for a while though and just enjoy the moment, (and grunt a little ) It just felt really good. Then I lowered it ever so gently because I really wanted to "own" that lift without a doubt.
After I lifted it, I knew I left some on the table...., but that is what experience is all about. No regrets....and next time, I will probably open with 600 even, and then go up from there.RAW lifts

Thanks man! I had actually already won my weight class and overall with my second lift.
My 3rd lift, the 620 at that point was not to win. It was for me! No point in holding back. I entered to see what I could lift.....not if I could win. I think most of the guys approached it that way.Last edited by induced_drag; 05-06-2013 at 02:29 PM.

Yep. 600 was my PB up to that point. Because I was lifting the most, my lifts came up last in rotation. My 3rd lift was the last lift of the meet. All the guys were pulling for me to get it. I had been told that the adrenaline of a meet will add to your lifts. This is true for sure. 600 was downright easy, and the 620, which I expected to struggle with at least a little, went up without any knee banging or jerking. The guys with experience said I had another 10-15 easy in me....maybe more.
It was a great experience. It is one I will do again for sure. I would like to bring my other lifts in as well.RAW lifts

This is a good plan and the same one I follow. It would be nice if you could just step up and pull your PR on your first attempt, but the problem is if you miss it. LOL Since you can't go backward in weight at a comp, you're stuck trying to lift something you just failed with. It's a total mindphuck at that point. I try to open up about 10lbs heavier each meet and then try for at least a 10lb meet PR on my second attempt. Even if you don't set a PR at the meet, at least you get on the board. I had one hell of a squat at a meet last summer just to bomb on bench. I got cocky and didn't take into account how much a good squat will take out of you. I haven't done that since. You'll figure it all out after a few meets.
