Ask someone who just got straight A's this semester and is soon to graduate cum laude, with a wife, two kids, a PT job, and a 3x weekly lifting schedule anything?

Thanks brahs. I really thought my grades would take a hit this semester with the baby girl around, I work from home so I handle most of the childcare, but they actually improved! Let's hope I can keep it up when I go back for my Master's.

just count your calories, no need to track all those macros on a siteThere is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

bang your head into the nearest desk
the fact that so many people complain about a dumb site miscalculating things shows more reasons why people "plateau". What is so hard about calculating the stuff yourself and not relying on broken technology? He also doesnt need that much protein, he is overweight enough where counting calories and just staying active and eating healthy is enough. There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

How about so you can share what you eat & what exercises you do in order to help people who are plateauing?
I have people on bb.com about the same size as me struggling & asking me what I eat daily & how I meet my macro's so they can get an idea on what they could eat.
I certainly don't use it for the forums.

i have a cell
The simple reason they are not being successful, they are eating too much food. They want to be told that doing HIIT will "BREAK THAT PLATEAU!", or someone will mention "carb cycling" because they did it and they lost weight when they just happened to be in a deficit and thats what made the difference. The same goes with IF, the only reason people claim it made them lose weight was because they happened to be in a deficit.
People need to be taking a risk and follow calories, then make adjustments after weeks and be patient, they are too caught up in what the scale says NOW.
Understanding the concept of math and putting it to use in the real world is ultimately the reason for success.
I never understood why so many people on the forum bow down to other guys that are "lean", and parrot when someone says "its hard getting to single digits". Its not. All it takes is staying in a deficit long than others, thats it.
If you look around at the gym, how many people are pretending to work out and actually working out? People do not want to work hard, and take their body out of a comfort zone. Its easy to just get on a machine and say you are working out. The BS stops when the green flag drops and your physique shows the amount of work you put in.
Well, we all dont need that much protein, the basic requirements are such a joke to get that anyone who says they cannot meet it is just being an idiot and eating cheetos and drinking regular soda all day long. People will continue to make excuses for their lack of self control, their lack of motivation, and their lack of the ability to follow directions and a plan. You will get enough protein if you dont go out of your way to avoid it, same with fats. You would have to try really hard to not meet it.
The newbies that stall and cant figure out what they are doing wrong, they ARE lying about how much they are eating. They are lying to everyone else, or to themselves. Sometimes ill forget that i had a banana or something and just carrying the cals over to the next day, but its easy to forget that you ate it. The reality is people are eating way more than they think, they believe they are calculating things correctly but they are not. I hear the same things all the time at the gym, people that truly believe you can bulk up and lose fat at the same time. Dude wont listen to me when he thinks he is eating 4000+ calories and losing weight and believes that the stupid elliptical is saying he is burning 200 calories in 10 minutes when he is using barely any resistance.
The only reason i have been successful is because i know the math and i apply it, thats the only difference between success and failure for losing weight, or more importantly, getting enough nutrients while lifting in a deficit to lose fat. There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

Because if you lose muscle as well you lose weight at twice the rate!! *notsrs*
In fact most of the studies I've come across shows that protein requirement actually goes up to the higher end when cutting and lower end while bulking/maintenance in order to preserve/build muscle.

Anyway for a completely different topic, anyone know if it is possible for abs to outgrow ribcage ? Starting to wonder if my lower ribcage pain is caused by my abs pressing on it, since the top of my abs sits high and kinda press around it.

Spoken like a true unaware, Serp. Bravo. First - this came off Ron's MFP saying 57g protein and you decided to go off on another one of your tangents that really makes me question you're intelligence. Second - you can't even comprehend what it's like for a normal person to cut to and maintain at single digits. You cut on double the calories that most people do the first time they are losing weight.
Saying how easy it is and eating over 2500 calories a day cutting....... Strong logic.
Need to close the thread before my brain explodes and I go on a neg spree.1175 @172

Way easier than using notepad, you're dumb.
inb4 wrong entries - user error, l2use website.
inb4 takes longer - lol @ u typing every calorie amount and macros with hyphens in notepad while I just enter my frequently used food with a check box and hit ok.
lol @ u still talking trash about MFP when you never took the time to use it more than 2 seconds if at all.
Stay t-rex bro.

I'm sure he needs more than 57g a day...
"With regards dieting specifically, this was a topic of much study in the 60′s and 70′s as researchers started looking past the simple issue of weight loss and into that of changes in body composition; the goal moved from weight loss per se to that of generating fat loss while minimizing lean body mass and muscle mass loss.
After much toing and froing and research had been done it was eventually found that a protein intake of about 1.5 g/kg of lean body mass (LBM; note that researchers actually used Ideal Body Weight but this is a rough proxy for LBM) was necessary to spare LBM losses in a non-training obese individual consuming low calories.
This is about double the DRI for protein (at 0.8 g/kg) at maintenance calories. So for an overweight individual at say 200 pounds and 30% body fat (this would give them an LBM of 140 lbs or 63 kg), that would be a protein intake of 95 grams of protein per day. Please note that this value is simply a minimum and dieters may still find that higher protein intakes are beneficial from a hunger blunting effect or what have you (see below).'
-Lyle McDonald, Protein Intake While Dieting: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat...ieting-qa.html
Even when following my diet to a T, have had issues with getting enough protein. And I certainly wouldn't be getting enough if I never started tracking it. I think it is very wise to keep track of something like that, especially if you're actually trying to be efficient and look good after cutting off the fat.
I've seen too many people on this very forum lose an impressive amount of weight...only to look absolutely horrible afterwards because they didn't lift and / or eat enough protein.

You do realize i get just as hungry as anyone else right? it takes more energy and food to keep the same satiety. The fact that so many people complain about that MFP site giving wrong macros says something: they need to step up and do something to correct it, OR....just count their calories and not worry about what some site says to recommend.
Usual posts from newbies: myfitnesspal says to eat the calories back, but how can i lose weight if i eat them back? simple: dont eat them. A little common sense goes a long way.
It never mattered how many calories someone needed, all that matters is making excuses vs doing whatever it takes to get where you need to be. Dont underestimate the power of the lie and laziness. People will out of their way to avoid pain, and do everything to get a little pleasure. Sure not everyone has the same goals but a lot of people here never get where they want to be for that exact reason.
clearly, thats why MFP is dumb, it shouldnt ever say 57g.
Being female is different, you have a lot less calories. This is why girls should also do cardio to lose weight.
They looked horrible because like i said, they ate cheetos and cupcakes instead of nutritious food, also forgot to lift and did boatloads of cardio. There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?
