workout at home - pull up bar?

I was browsing some websites just for the heck of it, and I came across several pull up bars, which apparently can be used at home to put in the doorframe.

Now they also seem to be really affordable, for only about 20 bucks. Are they of good quality, or do they break fast?

They are fine, I'd worry more about the quality of the door frame.

Just don't buy one of the cheap Chinese rip off ones for £5. But yeah i would be more concerned about what it does to the door frame. If I was you I would make sure to use in on a supporting wall not a partition.

Like the guys above said, so long as your door frame is sturdy enough then they're great

Well I'm currently looking at a pull up bar which can be 'extended' until it reaches both sides, to get the stability.

    I"m looking at this:

I bought a pull up bar that uses the leverage to stay in place a few years back. It still works great but I noticed the threshold of the door frame has taken some damage.

I would say it's definitely worth it though, every time I pass by in my apartment I try and do some pull ups.

They're alright, but just make sure you get one in which you can live with the grip width.

It will get old very quickly if you're forced to do pullups/chinups with a narrower grip than you'd like to take.
