I think you should give another race a shot some time soon. You train in a way that leaves you in a constant state of preparedness for a race, and knowing that you already had phenomenal placement means that the added strength training will propel you to a podium spot, I'd think.

    MW: NT

    Pre-Workout:
    ~ .5 scoops STIMino
    ~ 2 L water

    Tunes/Watch

    Overview:
    ---

So, I have my biggest accounting test of the semester coming up in the next 2 hours. I figured I'd post up today's log a bit earlier than usual.
Had QUITE the morning, sitting at the DMV and waiting to get my license renewed. I always HATE going to the DMV (well, who doesn't right?) but the crappy part was having to wake up at 6:30 A.M to wait in line, the GOOD NEWS is that I no longer have to drive with an expired license. So, I figured I'd just bite the bullet and get it done this morning and get it out of the way so that I don't have to worry about it anymore... surprisingly the DMV line wasn't that bad! I only really had to wait for 45 minutes, and got in and got out.

    ---

I headed in to train after the DMV this morning..
Felt so groggy, had some pretty weird leg DOMs going on.. but after some foam rolling, stretching, and an AWESOME spin. It turned into a sickening leg pump, and diminished as the session went on.
Felt pretty weird with no coffee this morning, just chugged a bunch of water and took .5 scoops of STIMino and went in. But damn, it felt great.. as I went on with my session.. the energy just kept coming. Despite getting 4 hours of sleep last night.

    ---

I WANTED to get 5 reps today on my sumo pulls (385 would've been a new 5RM) but I had to settle for four.
It was a bit discouraging, I'm not going to lie. I KNOW that if I was fresh and well-rested.. I would've hit it NO problem. Not going to lie, yesterday was DEFINITELY a taxing day.. so I have to take that into consideration as well. I'm still going to say that this week was a success because I was able to add 5lbs to the bar and get it up (relatively smoothly).
Was crunched for time after deadlifting, so I finished off with some curls and misc back work. Which felt great. Dropsets always kill me, quite surprisingly DB rows hit me HARD today (cardio wise), could barely breathe after my last set and I was ready to GTFO.

Was a bit bloated this morning as well, IT WILL BE A LONG TIME BEFORE I EAT AT TACO BELL EVER AGAIN.
But then again, it could've been the high kcals yesterday..

    *shrug*

    lets take this test!

I wish it worked like that brother. Competitive cycling, (and I mean COMPETITIVE cycling) is more or less based around body weight and wattage output. (Think powerlifters... lower BW + Higher lifts = optimal).

I'll probably do another race soon, but if If I ever wanted to be be competitive. I'd have to drop a mad amount of weight.

or get EVEN STRONGER (for more output)... and that seems like it is more up your alley, either be the lightest or the strongest...just depends on how you look at it brother! (it is supposed to be a compliment, not sure if it came across that way).

I could be totally wrong as competitive cycling is not in my repertoire

The strength takes time, and an increase in BW. So, we shall see where both lead me..

How far is it from you? Just acquire a good set of rollers [kreitler] and start training on them routinely. Will help you hold a really solid line.

They are near Standford Uni so I think I lot of people go to MV from there. Mountain View also has Dan Green's Gym, Boss Barbell Club.

Guahan Grill’s 6lb Fried Rice Challenge!

    The Location:
    Guahan Grill, Oceanside CA

    The Challenge:
SIX pounds of chicken fried rice, topped with six eggs!
One hour to complete the challenge!

    The prize:

    Wall of Fame!
    25$
A feature on our website and ******** page

    The meal free
Commemorative T-shirt given only to our Champions! !

    The Video
    Coming tomorrow!

    Final Thoughts:

Probably the TASTIEST challenge yet! Tonight, I took on Guahan Grill’s SIX POUND fried rice challenge! NO ONE has ever defeated this challenge, and tonight.. I was the first to do so! I hadn’t had fried rice in YEARS, so this was a real treat! Not only did it look delicious, but it tasted amazing! Usually when I do a challenge, the taste of the food tends to diminish or get bland after a while..but this was amazing throughout the entire half hour! The food came out a bit hot, so I did my best to work my way around it (after taking down the eggs on top..left a few for the last bit).

Initially, when it came out.. I thought to myself “this doesn’t look six pounds”. But as I peeled away the eggs on top, and saw the absurd amount of rice hidden.. it became apparent that this thing was a monster. I worked my way around the rice on the corner, and made my way to the center. Since I had an hour to do this challenge, I took my time on this one (as you’ll see in the video, I talk a lot to my parents/GF/server).

My strategy was pretty simple, since it was rice.. I wanted to get it all down. As quick as I could, not like a burger challenge where you go for the meat first an hit the starches last. This one was awesome! I’m so glad that I got to do it, and I will more than likely be heading BACK TO DO NINE POUNDS of it!

The NEXT Challenge will be even better!

    The Pictures:

    Start!

    Starting off!

Had to ask for their “biggest spoon” lol

    Condiments of choice

    Finishing!
