That post was WAAAAAAAY before my time on these forums
I think you should give another race a shot some time soon. You train in a way that leaves you in a constant state of preparedness for a race, and knowing that you already had phenomenal placement means that the added strength training will propel you to a podium spot, I'd think.

New page action!
I wish it worked like that brother. Competitive cycling, (and I mean COMPETITIVE cycling) is more or less based around body weight and wattage output. (Think powerlifters... lower BW + Higher lifts = optimal).
I'll probably do another race soon, but if If I ever wanted to be be competitive. I'd have to drop a mad amount of weight.

or get EVEN STRONGER (for more output)... and that seems like it is more up your alley, either be the lightest or the strongest...just depends on how you look at it brother! (it is supposed to be a compliment, not sure if it came across that way).
I could be totally wrong as competitive cycling is not in my repertoire

I'll pretend like you're talking to me. Mountain View and Menlo Park are within 20 minutes of me. Mountain View has a pretty active night life and great whether. They are near Standford Uni so I think I lot of people go to MV from there. Mountain View also has Dan Green's Gym, Boss Barbell Club.

Final Thoughts:
Probably the TASTIEST challenge yet! Tonight, I took on Guahan Grill’s SIX POUND fried rice challenge! NO ONE has ever defeated this challenge, and tonight.. I was the first to do so! I hadn’t had fried rice in YEARS, so this was a real treat! Not only did it look delicious, but it tasted amazing! Usually when I do a challenge, the taste of the food tends to diminish or get bland after a while..but this was amazing throughout the entire half hour! The food came out a bit hot, so I did my best to work my way around it (after taking down the eggs on top..left a few for the last bit).
Initially, when it came out.. I thought to myself “this doesn’t look six pounds”. But as I peeled away the eggs on top, and saw the absurd amount of rice hidden.. it became apparent that this thing was a monster. I worked my way around the rice on the corner, and made my way to the center. Since I had an hour to do this challenge, I took my time on this one (as you’ll see in the video, I talk a lot to my parents/GF/server).
My strategy was pretty simple, since it was rice.. I wanted to get it all down. As quick as I could, not like a burger challenge where you go for the meat first an hit the starches last. This one was awesome! I’m so glad that I got to do it, and I will more than likely be heading BACK TO DO NINE POUNDS of it!
The NEXT Challenge will be even better!

Ive never done a formal food challenge, but have always considered myself to have a pretty hearty appetite. I GUARANTEE I could do this one, solely bc fried rice is legitimately my favorite meal of all time. I had it every single night for a year and never got sick of it lol. that said that's a pretty sick challenge GJEM. Mirin them paying u to eat 40$ worth of food :P

put your money where your mouth is 1st
do a challenge, Guaranteed they are harder than they seem when you start filling up your belly.
Every1 thinks they have a huge bottomless pit but when you actually experience it, you witness the absurd amount of food that this is in a short period of time
please do one before guaranteeing success
in fact I "GUARANTEE" you couldnt do it
@erik
lol at thinking it didnt look like a lot of rice at first

Did you catch the 6 pound part? lol.
Nothing against you, I just get this exact post every single time I do a challenge (usually a dozen actually lmao).
Thanks bro.
