You hear different things from everyone nowadays, some say you shouldn't workout more than 5 times a week, some people work out everyday and are huge, some say you need to give a muscle 2 days of rest before working it again. So what are you guys' opinion on the matter? I'd love to be working out everyday if I didn't think there would be a negative impact on my gains

It's pretty hard to actually 'overtrain' in the sense that you're thinking of, what's more common is people failing to recover by the time they need to workout again - also CNS burnout and mental stress plays a part. Unless you're doing a fullbody routine 7 days a week back to back, you're not likely to be overtraining buddy.

Chances are if you're "overtrained", you're really undertrained. Most of the time when people aren't recovering as fast as they should be, they really just need to keep working out to get used to it. You can train to be more resilient to training, just like you can train to be stronger or train to be bigger.

You won't overtrain. According to Layne Norton and Jake Wilson scientists have actually taken trainees and attempted to force induce overtraining and could not. Overtraining occurs over a long period of time and with an excruciatingly demanding daily regimen. According to these guys it has only really been seen in some military special op units.
