Men are falling and dying everyday at old ages because they break hips from a simple fall. This is due to low bone density. Powerlifting helps with this. If people would learn to put some hard work into their bodies, their bodies should not degrade that much at older ages. If pain is holding you back then you don't know what the point of living is.
