Morning brahs.
So last night... I was ready to pump out a nice 5 reps of 315 deadlift but my grip was literally soaking.. so I put my hands in my pocket, wiping them on pants... still didnt help.
Meanwhile some manlet is behind me waiting for the area so I'm getting even more mad considering I just OHP 135lbs.. anyways, I pull up, get a nice easy rep.. let the weight sit. go for another and just slips, fyukkkkkkk. My hands are actually sweating right now thinking of it..
Anyways, I was furious because I do not want me sweaty palms to be what prevents me from excelling with my dead.
What do you brahs recommend?
Straps - my grip strength would take a hit..
Liquid chalk - never tried it, did a search of forums.. seems to have good feedback (any recommendations?)
Barehand - just keep going at deads natty - which doesnt make sense.. but there might be some broscience behind it.
cliffs-
-sweat causes deads to slip around 315lbs
-liquid chalk or straps?
-need help!

Liquid chalk works pretty damn well if your gym allows it, just takes 2-4 drops to dry up yer hands and they stay dry until washed off (atleast mine do). So a bottle of liquid chalk lasts a long time.
If your grip is suffering because of sweat and not the heavy weight i'd definetly go for liquid chalk instead of straps.

Liquid chalk ftw. It works well and lasts forever. Any brands is ok as its probably all the same stuff rebranded, but buy a bottle and see for yourself. Make sure you shake well before each use.
IMHO chalk vs straps is like saying Pepsi vs Mercedes. Chalk is to help you grip better, and straps are for taking grip weakness out of the equation. When you use straps, you'll still get good results from using chalk anyway. My training log:

Personally not into liquid chalk, tried it with Rogue bar and while it does help me get a stick it also irritates the hand. Could be Rogue knurl or I just wasn't sweating enough. Other people also said that liquid chalk is ok on some things but sucks on barbells.
If you're sweating a lot it doesn't make sense to stay barehand though. Get straps too, work out grip during warmup sets.-!!!---!!!- No Excuses Homemade Equipment Crew #24 -!!!---!!!-

The name of the product is "Liquid Grip"
http://liquidgrip.com/about/the-product/
It is a real chalk dissolved in some liquid that dries on hands and works like real chalk ('cause it is )
I also had some other "Liquid chalk" that was more like nice smelling clear sticky spray with very little grip action in it.

Just curious, why not use normal chalk? It is cheaper and easier to find.
I would assume your gym doesn't allow it which is why it wasn't an option.I am going to die under a heavy barbell one day and it's going to be f*cking awesome--HamburgerTrain

So I bought the Liquid Grip and I have to say it really brought out my grip weakness. Thankfully, my grip will obviously improve now that I'm not worried about the slippage from hands being sweaty as ****.
I found I had to use it twice, but could have been because I didn't use enough initially (maybe 2 pea size amounts).
