    need help with rippetoe ss

    Been out of the gym for almost a year, i was wanting to do a Mark Rippetoe Starting Strength routine but my body fat% is around 20%, and i don't think i could lose weight with this workout routine, so should i do a cutting routine first and then do the rippetoe ss routine?

    Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

    You can lose weight doing whatever you want, provided you're eating less calories than you expend. Read this OP;

    PM me with any questions.

    I see, but i was wondering maybe i should focus on a more cardio based workout since it would be easier to lose weight with a 5 day split etc with cardio compared to the 3 lifts a week ss routine? Since i'm a beginner and quite fat, could i realistically lose weight while still gaining strength from the rippetoe ss routine?

    Like I said, read the stickies man. You don't need to do cardio to lose weight. Since you're a beginner, I expect you to be able to put on some muscle, lose some fat and gain strength using SS, or any other decent beginner program.
