Good or bad? For the first 5 months I bulked up and for the past month I have been working on cutting a bit of body fat (and perhaps gain some strength and maybe a bit of muscle if I'm lucky? Don't know if noob gains are over for me as I still progress in strength)
I am on the Icecream Fitness Novice routine, I gained a lot of strength:
(5 reps)
Bench: 50kg now 67.5kg (though I am currently doing 65kg as I am really really trying to focus on my chest, form > weight etc)
Squat: 80kg now 107.5kg
Deadlift: 60kg now 140kg
Overhead press: 30kg now 50kg (almost had 52.5kg today)
Anyway feedback appreciated

Thanks man
My weight when I started lifting was about 134lbs I think, now 152lbs. Not too sure about maxes because I've never attempted them, when I started I just picked a weight that was heavy and that I could accomplish 5 reps with and advanced from there. Same with assistance exercises but for 8 reps.

Thanks man, yeah on my bulk I was doing 5x5 for my main compound lifts and 3x8 for my assistance lifts. Since I started cutting it's now 3x5 and 2x8.
I was thinking to move on to a split routine when I finish cutting because I started training in the morning and may not have time before work to do all the 5x5 and 3x8 lifts. I *think* I am almost at the intermediate stage (according to strstd all my lifts are intermediate apart from bench which is slowly approaching it).
I think after I finish cutting I will be strong enough to move to a split, what do you think?
My mate (inb4 broscience) who has trained for years and apparently has a few British powerlifting records and has always sort of been a bodybuilder (even more serious about it now) reccomended me to switch to a split, so I'm kind of inclined to try it out.
I need to find a good split to be doing after though, especially when training chest and back (particularly lats) I want to be hitting it hard, maybe even shoulders too to get me a bit wider, I think I have a broad sort of shoulder structure though.
Thanks man, you know I will

Ah nice workout im doing a similar thing though no assistance apart from chin ups. Yeah your at around intermediate stats i usually see , squat 120kg, bench 90-100kg - and i think deadlift is a bit higher like 160kg.
So basically i think youve exploited your beginner gains really well and you could move to an intermediate program such as Mascow 5x5 though you might be a bit bored of these 5x you could always try a spilit. Im like at the same place as you i have two more months of bulking and im doing just compounds which i will cut on the same program then i want to try a Split/Hydrotherapy program.
Have you researched any hydrotherapy programs there just basically for throwing on size rather than strength so i am down for that.
Just noticed you are from Northern Ireland where you from?

[QUOTE=Chrisy1427;1061819561] Sorry man didn't see your reply, I'm from Armagh, around Craigavon if you know where that is.. how about you?
I think once I finish cutting I'll do the same thing because I really want to see what the results are like for a split, or see if I like it more than full body. I'm sure it wouldn't be much different, as long as you're sticking to all the compounds and stuff.
