5 days ago i was curling 40 lb dumbbells 8 reps.. Last night i could only do 7.. That happen to anyone else!? Trying to progress but regressing.. Very frustrating!

Could be a multitude of reasons for this, but you most likely did back in between your arm days, dead lift, Chest (if you use your lats at all in your curl it would be effected by back day). Don't get frustrated... as long as you felt the burn and pushed yourself then you got a good workout in. I am sure you're not regressing at all.

A lot could factor into this. Did you get good rest last night? How is your diet? Is there something on your mind? There are so many.... I would chalk it up to a bad day. We all have them. Pull up your boot straps and hit it hard on the next round. If you continue to fail maybe you need a deload or routine change. Bottom line...DO NOT GIVE UP! Good luck!
