Ha, I was just about to write another post about this, since it's something I think of every day! I make $13/hr right now, which is not enough to survive on in New Jersey, even for just a studio apartment. If I get hired by the company I'm at right now, I'll make $15/hr, but I still don't think that would be enough. I get 20% of my paycheck withheld in taxes.
I refuse to get a second job because I'm already so tired and stressed as it is. My workouts haven't been going very well ever since I started this job because I'm just so drained, plus I've been feeling sick during exercise a lot. Does wanting to work only 40 hours a week make me lazy? -_-
Isn't a good rule of thumb to pay for rent no more than 30% of net pay? If that's the case, I'm SOL.Make Fihe Not Fat Again.

Have roommates - I have a 3bedroom with brahs for around 2k/mo. So 650~ per guy isn't that terrible with utilities. The biggest issue seems to be living on your own in NJ with car insurance/bills/rent/high prices.
Your rent should be around 20-30% of your monthly pay. I think all of my bills/food/rent is 50-55% of my money"Train by day, Joe Rogan podcast by night all day!"

Ugh, I really would rather not live with anyone. I'm worried about personal or financial issues. Also, I feel like moving out and living with a roommate wouldn't really be worth it due to the lack of privacy. I might as well stay home and live with my loud, crazy, and sometimes abusive family, because at least my mom cooks for me and does my laundry, and my dad takes care of any of my car expenses.

I know so many people that did this and had to move back home at like 25-26.
It's funny the people I know who have relatively high incomes for their age all still live at home while most of the low income people all moved out very young. Definitely some outliers from that trend in my social group but for the most part it's true.
