this , newark isnt even close to Camden which is ranked top 5 most dangerous spots in the country hell even the police force quit they are policed by state troopers , delivery guys only go to charge accounts and they have their trucks robbed daily

I live in Middlesex County. Currently working in Jamesburg, just 10 minutes from home. It's a temp to perm job, and I hope I can be permanently hired. I really want to move out of my parents' house because I live with too many people (including extended family), but my finances do not allow for it.

I make $13/hr right now, which is not enough to survive on in New Jersey, even for just a studio apartment. If I get hired by the company I'm at right now, I'll make $15/hr, but I still don't think that would be enough. I get 20% of my paycheck withheld in taxes.

I refuse to get a second job because I'm already so tired and stressed as it is. My workouts haven't been going very well ever since I started this job because I'm just so drained, plus I've been feeling sick during exercise a lot. Does wanting to work only 40 hours a week make me lazy? -_-

Isn't a good rule of thumb to pay for rent no more than 30% of net pay? If that's the case, I'm SOL.

I do have almost $20,000 saved. I'm hoarding all my money so that I'll never need to ask my parents for money again once I'm out of the house. I don't have a very good relationship with my family, so I wouldn't care if I never saw them again. I would just miss my pets.

I know so many people that did this and had to move back home at like 25-26.

It's funny the people I know who have relatively high incomes for their age all still live at home while most of the low income people all moved out very young. Definitely some outliers from that trend in my social group but for the most part it's true.
