    Bulking for football

    About to play for my JC and need advice on the best time table to bulk. Going to be playing db, am currently 5'9 164lbs and trying to get as strong and lean as possible. 1st practices are august. Would it best to do a clean bulk until july, and cut for a month? and while bulking I can get faster assuming I'm sprinting and doing agilty/explosivness exercises. Bench is around 295, squat 390, box squat 405x3, dl around 365. Thanks for any advice

    I do this every summer, you have 16 weeks until you report, you want to report at top physical shape. I suggest that you start to bulk early on and when you get close to your camp time up your cardio regiment accord to your conditioning test or expectations. Early on you will do cardio to just find a base to see where you stand and where to start later on. When I came into camp we had 16 110's so i would had 2 sprints per week, i would bulk early in the summer and would peak about two weeks before camp started with both the cardio and with lifting. I wouldnt worry about being lean, if it is any camp at all you will lose a good amount of weight during camp, even if your camp isnt hard, if your food intake is appropriate during the summer, you will lose weight just becuase of change in diet. Always keep in mind when your body needs to peak, never bulk late or cut early. The increased running later in the summer to get you ready for camp will also help you cut any extra weight

    I play LB football on a semi pro team. Just go clean bulk all the time High Complex Carbs, High Protein, Low Fat 7-9 meals aday. I would not cut if I were you football practice will take care of that on its own. YOU dont want to drain all your energy by cutting it will take a while to recover SO JUST EAT MORE. CLean tho
