I like how the Robot has its own little work station. It should have its own name tag. And go the Christmas parties and all that, be part of the team.

I live in Ohio and support Rogue, I encourage you all to do the same and stop being caddy about a company using new technology to become more efficient. These machines still have to be monitored, calibrated, and serviced by human beings. But if you decide not to support them no worries, I'll just have to buy more stuff
This came today, nice! (Monster Grip Triangle)

I'm with you as well.
Not sure I understand the hate..... at least on this point.
I have heard on here that they might not treat their employees well and that would give me concern, but I haven't heard any confirmation. I understand trying to streamline and cut costs....you don't go into business to pay employees....but you should take care of the people you entrust with your business when possible.
Rogue Robot doesn't bother me..... unless it can think, then I'm skeered.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #4 ▪█─────█▪

Yeah! Down with the robots!
What's happening to our world all of a sudden? Using tools and machinery that improve productivity and quality!? That's no way to beat the Chinese!
American Power Racks should be hand made! Properly handmade. Without machines. By blacksmiths, starting with iron ore and a hot furnace. Frankly, that's how I assumed everything was made, but now, having seen the Rogue robot, I'm becoming afraid that some bastard will come up with a way of making steel tubing in a factory and putting honest American blacksmiths out of work. That would be horrible! Thank God, they will still have enough work from shoeing horses. Surely nobody will ever replace the horse!
Progress? Humbug! Who needs it?
Really?
Does anyone see the irony in dissing welding robots (a technology older than the internet and personal computers) on an internet forum?
Here's a tip, if you are concerned about modern mass production techniques putting real tradesmen out of work: be careful buying anything made after 1760.
Cheers

There is no hate... my comment was meant to be taken lightly. I've bought lots of their stuff. Some is good, some is junk. If that robot welded my deadlift jack it certainly does need to be monitored, serviced and by human beings because it is a piece of $hit. On the other hand my R3 was well built. I understand the need for technology but given the choice, I'd prefer to buy equipment that is made by a person rather than a machine. Well, except for cars maybe... that would be pricey
Is that thing even a welder?Last edited by GarageIron; 04-22-2013 at 09:55 AM.

Sad to hear, hopefully they treat their employees well, seems like they are increasing in size so maybe its partly due to growing pains and some disgruntled employees? Either way seems like Rogue has branded a great image and reputation for producing high quality stuff. Cant wait to put the Monster Triangle to the test later on tonight, I have been obsessed with "fat grip" stuff lately since I got turned on to an Elite Fat Grip Swiss bar.....

Seriously. I think I have seen an R3 on a rotisserie by hand. Its an equipment forum, I dont recall reading many posts about "inside the shop" or what companies do what, so its interesting to me. Ive seen SNPs shop and welding table, but that is a one-man smaller operation.
Anyay @ GI, from ********:
"That is a good issue to discuss - If we don't use robotic welders on high volume items we run a serious risk of inconsistency in welds, missing welds and burning our guys out. Our manual weld tables stay very busy with the new products we bring out!"[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]

For sure Rogue is not UNICEF they have to do things the best way they can to turn a profit. Ive seen the laser machine used to cut holes (YouTube has all kinds of vids on this). Ive seen inside some powedercoat shops, etc. It just interesting to see how things are made.
Those other drop in slotted stainless racks are all laser cut too, if you have never seen on Youtube its fun to watch.[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]

I took everything written above as tongue in cheek. Everytime I have dealt with Rogue, I have been satisfied in the end. If you don't like the product, and it's reasonable, Bill always seems to find a way to make you happy. Like everything else in this world, not everything is going to be perfect, it's customer servive on returns and figuring out solutions that rules the roost.
Alongside Dean Best, Glenn Pendlay, Bill Ennis and a few others, Rogue Customer Service has been spot on."Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do, than by the ones you did" Mark Twain
"Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats" H. L. Mencken

Robots? What's wrong with robots? I'd like one to do my lifting for me, so I can get toned on the unicycle.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Seriously Rogue says the robot is there to weld more consistently than a human could. Robot welders are very common. I remember watching some documentary about welding pipes, possibly for oil pipeline. Robots took care of most of the work while a socially inept welding virtuoso was pleased he didn't have to deal with so many incompetent human welders.
And now

Sweet! With lifting and unicycling out of the way, I'll have more time to eat pizza and contemplate what to do with my nice body and what I can do with it.

so built in america can mean built by machines built in another country?
I rather R have actual americans building there stuff but to each their ownIt surprises me how many people refuse to buy equipment from Elitefts because its too expensive but they will buy equipment from their competitors, then continue to go on EFS website to educate themselves for FREE

Yes, he is a welder. A multi-axis arc welding robot. Welding robots have been around since the 1960's, longer than most members on this forum have been around, so he's not exactly revolutionary high tech either.
Here he is with some of his friends, building you a car:
Cheers
