Please no one take what I'm saying as defense of this guy. I'm playing doubles advocate and just trying to get people to think critically and not emotionally. I was not aware there's video of the shootout, and RIP to the cop who was killed. I hope they catch the guy and of course this is America and he gets his fair trial in which he will more than likely be found guilty and get what he deserves. I just can't explain why a guy who everyone loved would do this but I guess human nature is weird sometimes.

They've already been identified by the police, tied to the surveillance from the bombings, admitted to the bombings to the person they kidnapped, and the dead brother was found with a IED on his body.
