Make sure you ask Jorlan to take you guys to a Churrascaria, you all going to love all the meat they bring you to the table.
Autumn there and stupid daylight savings time makes it darker earlier =/. Sick view from the hotel!Army Veteran, OEF.

What a great day today. We started out taking the long, winding road up to Corcovado and the famous Christ the Redeemer statue. We have all seen the statue in movies or on tv but to see it in person is awesome. While the statue is impressive the views from high above the mountain are just breath taking. It's as beautiful as any place I've been. Some of it looks a bit like Hawaii from that view. In addition the weather was absolutely perfect. You can drive up pretty far on the mountain but then you have to park and take a bus up, then when you reach the bottom of the statue you have to climb up many steps. It reminded me of the castle we went to see in Germany except this was very opposite, that was cold and snowy (which made for beautiful scenery).
Many people asked to take pictures with the guys. People really stare and say things to the guys here, many people looked at us funny in Germany but they were reserved and didn't speak yet people here voice their opinion. It's all positive but it was explained to us that they are not used to seeing really big bodybuilders

Next we went to the Rocinha favela. This was a really interesting experience. The favela's are often misunderstood and portrayed unfairly on tv and in movies. It's essentially the slums where the people who earn lower incomes live. Some say it's a dangerous place to visit with a lot of crime, you know what every city has crime and bad areas. We felt safe there and welcomed by the people there. The streets are buzzing and alive. Shops are out in the open since the weather is nice year round. Motorcycles are flying up and down the narrow streets. The taxi's in the favela's are on motorcycles as it's the easiest way to get around. We visited a few supplement stores and I was blown away by how much customers have to pay for supps. For example Animal Pak sells for around $130 US dollars, which is super expensive and it's that way for all supplements.
We then trained at a local gym R1 Fitness
From a distance you can see the apartments that are built going all the way up the hill. Some people have to walk up 200 steps to get to their apartment. Imagine doing that everyday, imagine carrying your groceries up that far.

We just hit up a famous Brazilian steak house - Porcao. Now they have these types of restaurants in the US but this was authentic. For those that have never been first they have a massive "salad" bar with tons of food including sushi, shrimp and a ton of other food. You can easily fill up on that alone. At your table you have a disc with a green side and a red side. When your disc is showing green waiters will come to the table with all different meats on skewers and they slice it fresh for you there. If you don't want anymore or want to take a break you turn your disc to red. The food is amazing.
Poor Antoine had to look on while delicious meats were being carved, he stuck to his diet however
Big plate o food
Frank was allowed cheat meal and he was happy
