The art of sampling is digging for unknown (old) records and manipulating them, possibly to the point where you can barely make out what the original track was. Either that, or you clear the sample with the original record company. Blatantly copying the melody of a popular trance track is not sampling, it's plagiarism since they didn't clear it with Anjunabeats.

its called sampling and its actually completely legal to take anyones beats and use it. but you can be sue'ed off the PROFFITS you make from a beat being stolen

if you steal a beat and make no money off the song you get sued for practically nothing. making stealing beats a good economic investment because you can only get sued heavily AFTER you already made millions of dollars off the song


in the end music is about the product you make. if you take someones beats and add your own essence to it and combine it with other things you made as well, then you have now created something new to sell that the original beat creator did not do. so you still have a new product. but in america you can still be sued for a portion of that proffit, but its still a good economic action because you cannot be sued for 100% of the proffit and you will only lose a respectable amount of money if the song got really popular and made you tons of money in the first place.

Arty and Mat Zo deserve recognition for the track that Rebound is and all their other masterpieces. As up and coming producers I'd imagine it's hard on them knowing someone else is trying to benefit off their work whilst they are going through the hard work of trying to get themselves out there with their good music.

I usually wouldn't get so worked up about this but I've always hated Will.I.Sham for the chit artist that he is. And Arty and Mat Zo are two of my favourite up and coming producers/DJs. Hopefully this go in Arty & Mat Zo's way and they get some good exposure as well as win the case and bring shame to Will.I.Sham's name
