hey guys just looking for a little help. I'm opening a personal training studio in September of this year. I've already secured a location, first month of rent is free, then $600 per month, no utilities, or any other bills, just the $600. I got lucky and my buddy has a space built behind his house that used to be a barber shop with it's own parking spaces. It is about 950 sq ft., a good location and literally right around the corner from my house. I am NASM certified, Weight loss specialist, womens fitness specialist, and MMA conditioning specialist ( all through NASM) I've been training for 2 years now ( been working out since high school and always in to fitness) I recently just lost my job at the end of March, I got a 1 week notice that the gym was closing because the owner that didn't even live in my city OR even workout and wasn't into fitness at all and didn't want to fool with it anymore, although he was making profit, so he sold the equipment to a competing gym in town AND let them come in and try to get members to their gym (embarassing). It was a sucky situation at first due to me letting my Fiance' just quit her job recently so she could go to Nursing school full time and i have a 1 year old daughter, BUT i realized this could be my big opportunity to finally do something for myself to make a difference in my community and to make some good money a long the way.
I will be the first and ONLY personal training studio in my area. I've grown up here so I know a lot of people in good places. Anyway, none of this really matters I was just letting you know my back ground and a little about me. I have a couple of questions as far as legal paper work needed to get this business up, running, and legal 100%. I just formed a LLC , NG Fitness LLC, (NG = Nathan Gallineau) which will also be the name of the studio. I am awaiting for my paper work back from the state a long with my tax ID. I know I also have to get a operating license or a business license, and also make the structure for my business as far as employees, manager, etc which I plan on being the only employee for now but in the long term I do plan on opening a new location and have a couple of trainers, but that's in my long term plan.
What legal matters do I need to be aware of, what all do I need to do to make my company/business 100% legal and what other things should I look in to. I have ********** synched with intuit gopayments to keep track of expenses, money coming in, and take credit card payments. I am going to give this 100%, I know it will take hard work but I'm ready to put it in. Any help would be appreciated, thank you very much!
