Dude, the city itself has the 21st largest population in the USA, 10th largest metropolitan population once you count 'Greater Boston'. Why would you expect some HS kids in the UK to automatically know Boston, Massachusetts?

What's truly amazing is the relatively low death count in an attack like this. There were a large amount of paramedics and medical facilities in the immediate area. Amazing response time saved a lot of lives today. Not to mention doctors and medical-career individuals running in the marathon.

A lot of lives were saved. People had immediate access to IV's and blood transfusions. Paramedics/police were assisting seconds after the explosion.

Also the fact there was no shrapnel from the explosions which makes me think it was more of a scare tactic/statement than an attempt to kill as many people as possible.

I don't think the guy was intentionally stepping on the flag. The flag might have been displaced after the explosion. It's chaotic, people are running around searching for the wounded, etc. He's not disrespecting the flag in any way, I think that's the last thing on his mind.

So much rage from the twitter/fb posts that was posted here. this is why I avoid twitter/fb, but the stupidity cannot be avoided as there are always people like that. The loudest person is typically the person that does the least amount of meaningful work.

In events like these, it's the unspoken quiet people who took the biggest actions, running into the smoke to rescue people, etc. Not saying the people who ran away were in the wrong (some people had to protect their kids, which is understandable) but the stupidity on twitter/fb are most likely full of people that would not run into a firefight, explosion, danger zone to save people. I wouldn't expect kids from the US to know any cities in the UK other than London. I wouldn't the average UK kid to know any cities in the US other than the top few (by population).
