Week 8 of the Coan deadlift program I have been doing. Was supposed to pull 620x2 but only got 1.5. Still an improvement as 620 was my starting weight only 8 weeks ago.

I have been sick all week. Spent all of wed in bed with low grade fever and still not feeling 100% today. I was disappointed but was not expecting much out of myself in the gym today anyway.

    Body weight is 205.

Thanks man. Appreciate it. Not sure I will go much further since I have to miss the comp I was prepping for. I am thinking I might switch back to deficit diet and continue where I was going trying to get in good shape for summer.

Maybe save my big pulls for the comp in Aug if I can make it. .... Just a little down that I have to pull out.

Did I hurt your feelings pharmamarketer? I had no idea you were so sensitive...my wife does that sometimes at certain times of the month.

Apparently me posting a vid to back up my earlier claim pissed pharmamarketer off, because he started following me around to other threads making fun of my PR numbers and calling me names. Either that, or his 10 year old son has hijacked his account. Here's a first-order piece of advice: Don't make fun of someone's PR's unless you can exceed them.

    Check this one out:

I didn't bother reading the PM's he sent me, I figured it was just more BS.

It's sad really, you can't hardly do anything legit on the internet anymore without someone jumping all over you and being adversarial.

Came back off a week vacation and decided to hit legs. Then felt dumb enough to try #405. Sorry video isn't seemingly great. Felt good warming up then the lift though think I finally hit a max as I was shaking most the way up?? In relooking at it I think I finish my legs a little early but didn't feel like it then. Was also funny that in placing the video on youtube, it heard the song in the background and declared I had a copyrighted video :-)

You would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

I'ts been a while so here's Monday. Probably doesn't count since you can't clearly see the plates I have on each side, but I assure you it's 380# (bar + 6 45# plates + 6 10# plates + 2 cookies) . Thanks to rawelite's help, I've been able to pull 430 without straps. I would have gotten 6 here, but my grip was failing me.

My mind wasn't into it this morning, I should have gotten twice the reps today:

    415x2

No negative energy, I will mute ya
    Only Positive energy surrounds me
    Only, open minds around me
    Only, free spirits around me
I let my vision guide me.

This was earlier today 315x6 then 405x1. This was at 180 on the scale this morning. I'm not sure I have much more left in me, but I'm gonna keep building this lift up. Loving the DL right now.

Excuse the crappy editing job... youtube got the best of me.

You are unreal. No man should post in here again unless 600 is on the menu. Major, major, major congrats. That is very impressive.

Just joined the site and this forum.

I'm 71, 5'10", 240 lbs. My max deadlift was 250# the day before I went in for rotator cuff surgery. Now I am finally back in the gym after 6 months restriction. I currently am deadlifting 225# and looking for 300# by Christmas.

My biggest problem right now is the bench press as the shoulder is still not happy when I bench. This will be a slow process. My goal is to be ready for a powerlifting competition in February 2015.

    Wow....good thread bump!

I have been hitting my deads really hard lately. Looking for a new PB.

I just ordered an Okie deadlift bar and got to use it for the first time tonight.

Good and bad news. I loved the bar, but I had an 'off' day in the gym

Was all psyced to use the new bar. (which I did). I really like it, the feel..etc. I can notice a difference at the bottom of my pull. It really suits my style of peeling the weight off the ground rather then exploding. (I am not an explosive deadlifter)

Unfortunately, I just could not get in the right mindset again. Lots of excuses.....bad nights sleep, then spending all day working in front of a computer....etc. All excuses but I was not my best walking in.

I think I am going to give the reps a break for a while and start working down to a new single over the next few weeks.

I shot a vid with just 495 so you can see the reaction of the bar. I played with the bar a little, tugging it etc. It is lively for sure. I like it. Here is that weight.

Here is my 605 set, and I only got 4 reps. Disappointed as you can see 5 was NOT in me. But I can see from the vid that this bar will really suit the way I pull. The heavier the weight, the more it gives.

    Belt too low on waist.
Scapulas not in complete alignment with bar.
Feet not positioned under middle of bar. Off by a centimeter at least.
