A shortened dip before the drive is actually key to putting the most force into the bar. The further you descend when doing a jerk or a push press, the more energy you'll spend bringing the weight back through that ROM -- affecting both your timing and net power output negatively.

I been steady but right after I did my 385 I delt with some injuries so I been nursing them along. Should have did 405 that day I damn near think I might have got it if I had just jumped straight from 365 to it instead of being a puss. But I'm 37 now and I dont think I'm quite as invincible as I used to. HAHA! You aint heard from me cuz I been chasing coyotes all winter long but thats pretty much over so I'll be back on more I think.
Anyhow once gain congrats. Ya lookin like ya gonna hit your 405 damn soon!
