    I've messed around with some of the equipment but never actually competed. A few of my cousins are top ranked amateurs here in the USA in highland games though.

    I actually got into the serious lifting/strongman thing by way of Highland games (sadly throwing ****ed my shoulder/neck up for a long time). Much better sites than this for all that:

    The two I had done had about 8-10 competitors and the small numbers lead to a very friendly and helpful environment which was awesome cause other than throwing a few stones around I never trained for them. So pretty much go buy a kilt and show up.

    Aright man! Haven't seen anyone from Scotland on here haha! I'm actually from huntly but put aberdeen! Used to sometimes to go to fit lyke in rothiemay but it's shut down now, got an Olympic bar squat rack etc in a garage now just train there! Yourself?

    Bought a kilt and showed up to a local event in the novice division. Most of the throwers here have a weekly practice, though I don't usually partake. I practice throws a couple weeks out, except for the caber. Which is why that is my worst event.
