Thanks guys. Saw a really big guy OHP some big weight but he was coming up on his toes. Not bending his knees and getting a leg lift, but definetly was getting some cheat in with his heel raising up about 2 ". Within 5 minutes 2 other guy's started OHP with a heel raise on the other side of the room.
Thank you for the confirmation.

Sorry for kinda hijacking this thread, just didn't wanna make a new thread about it. In general, what is the ratio of Strict OHP:BB Bench Press weight? By this I mean how much more should you be able to bench compared to OHP? I feel like my bench has started stalling a bit and my OHP numbers are creeping up to my bench... somehow. I'm sure it's something wrong with my technique, but thought I'd ask. My OHP feels strict and solid, bench is feeling a bit "meh"... Never feel like I'm getting my body in an optimal position for good pressing leverage.

lol it is what it is...that's the knowledge that's been passed to me.
The thing about lifting is that it's fairly subjective....there's overall agreed on forms to exercises, but people have minor things they do different. Dude who showed me could be wrong, but that's like questioning someone's shot form...there's a reason why everyone in the nba doesn't shoot the same. lmao215.

While I respect the fact that you brought some more videos in as proof, how can you tell me what I have and haven't seen? lol...nobody "****ed up". ya'll are just too headstrong to accept the fact that I was taught (and shown) how to do the push press a certain way.
But ya'll continue to be great. lmao215.

Well, up to today I have never thought about the fact that heels leave the floor. I saw engineers post and looked it up and realised that it is true. There are jsut no videos on youtube of people doing push presses with the heels on the floor, period. I am not sure what else I can say, and who is the "headstrong" here.
Regardless, you have been tought wrong, that is NOT how the push press works, and by looking at your sign, it isn't like you are an elite lifter that knows everything. Not saying I am either, but guys push pressing 500lbs use the same technique as me, so I think I am good."Do not subordinate fundamental principles to minor details."

Like I said initially, before Engineer guy got his panties in a bunch, I agree to disagree. I couldn't find any videos on youtube with people's heels on the floor, but I feel like if I did, ya'll wouldve said something like "that's wrong" anyway lmao....for that matter you could talk about extreme arches in backs on bench, how you hold the bar when you squat, etc. if you're going to talk about guys that push press 500lbs using the same technique as you. I'll point you to a previous post, where I said that "lifting is fairly subjective". everyone has different methods, it's all about the results.
Unless ya'll are going to tell me everyone does every exercise the exact same. lol.215.
