While cutting, how many calories should you aim for during cardio?

I usually try to hit 300 on lifting days, after I lift. Then on non lifting days I try to get between 500 and 600. Does this sound about right?

all depends on intensity and duration, heart rate, etc.

it probably depends on your diet. just make sure you have a caloric defecit at the end of the day and you'll be fine.

300 Calories is 300 Calories no matter what. Whether I go at a high intensity keeping a high heart rate for a short period of time, or whether I do a moderate intensity and hit 300 calories over a longer period of time.

I'm trying to keep my diet about 300 calories under mantenance on lifting days, and around 500 under on non lifting days.

Not really. If you are doing HIIT and burn 300cals doing it, that will become more calories as the day goes on since HIIT does its work after the exercise is over while the body rests and recovers.

Eh.. I don't do cardio focusing on calories burned. Either way - I dont really trust the cardio machines to accurately tell me how many calories I'm burning.

If I want to lose 300 extra calories a day, I'll just eat 300 cals less.
I use cardio more for performance/endurance training. And the health goodness.
Anyway.. its always 20-40 mins. 20 is usually HIIT, and anything more means I'm usually just chillin on one of the machines reading something.

    .
The machines probably over predict by a lot, just to keep people motivated.
