For those who aren't, a big part of my occupation deals with finding out how a company lost a fukload of $ out of nowhere. It's sometimes traced to some business partner being shady or getting phished and then sending a malicious xls invoice to the second party, infecting their box in the most incognito way. Meanwhile they siphon off your business information and any creds needed to thief your monies. I would say 97% has always been China based.

When I placed my order I instantly threw red flags when receiving an xls spreadsheet invoice from a supplier for the first time, and have made it a thing to request that they just email me in plain text from now on.

If you can open with Google docs or something that's cool. Unless you mean that you're pressing 'Open' instead of download, either way, it still downloads a copy to your temp folder.

Usually not 'his' they'd take whole business account info and/or manipulate wire transfers. But yes, if your CC is there, why not, it's fair game. Just saying to practice caution with a lot of these folks. For example, if I was one of your normal suppliers and I wanted to steal from you as well I'm sure I'd be able to at least have access to your box via an invoice document.

What reminded me about this again was when I was canceling my claim and saw something about 'report phishing attempt' which struck my usual paranoid senses.

I try to make sure to list when most people will be off of work. Just have to decide on a time that allows all timezones a chance. This usually results in better bidding wars at the end of the auction

Sundays between 7-9pm EST is your best bet. Also Something thats kinda lame but true... If your hand is in any of the pics, throw a wedding band on your finger. For someone reason a married man selling an item seems more trust worthy then a single dude.

People sort by what's ending soonest. They wouldn't see it until Monday/Tuesday by doing this which means you're theory of a bidding war starting on Sunday night is wrong.

Unlikely, most would be too lazy to change from the default setting. Power sellers get higher listing position also.

I do agree with you, however, I have posted items with 7 day auctions and gotten quite a few watchers in the first or second day, I've also gotten bids in the first few days but usually people don't bid until the last day. Sometimes I don't understand people's strategy when they're bidding on an item...

I have found an item off of alibaba that Id like to order. Does anyone have a walk through to make this as painless as possible? All 100 pieces should be able to fit into a single box so would I be able to have them delivered to my door (DHL maybe?)

Ok brahs, wanna bounce this off you guys. I met a dude who works for an e-waste company, who says that you can purchase bulk amounts of any type of electronics from him for cheap. I didnt know if any of you guys have messed with this. Also, its my friends brother, so i feel less like its some salesman trying to rip me off. He said he could hit hand on things that sell 4x-5x the purchase price ebay. Seemed too good to be true, probably is. If anyone could give me insight on this....

He wanted to complete the deal via PayPal and to send him an invoice instead of settling through eBay. The member has a 134 positive reviews and no negative reviews which is one reason why I'm thinking about his offer.

Would I be taking a risk for myself going outside of eBay and going through PayPal?

Are you in a rush to sell the item? Is the item hard to sell? Is it worth the risk? There's so many cases where people get screwed even with tracking numbers...

to be able to offer a lower price because the seller will not have to pay ebay selling fees.

Your payment can still be protected if you pay by paypal invoice
