Walking On Incline vs Running On Flat

Okay, since it seems this question was never asked on this site(determined by Google). Which burns more calories on a treadmill, walking on incline or running on flat?

A few variables here- How fast am I running? How fast am I walking? What percent incline? How long am I running for? How long am I walking for?

Walking 4mph on 15% incline seems to burn calories alot faster ACCORDING TO THE NON ACCURATE MACHINE.

    But in for real answers.

I think it all comes down to heart rate so it doesn't matter what exercise. I'm not too sure tho.

doesnt really matter, do whatever cardio you find sustainable if you are going to do cardio, just know cardio is not necessary for fat loss. Calorie use is a function of oxygen consumption, work harder = more calories.
There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

Depends, for early morning fasted cardio I find walking on a incline is better, keeps my HR in the perfect range to directly draw from fat sources and not break down muscle as quickly running would. If you've already eaten and am doing late day cardio then I find running will burn through your calories quicker. Personal preference though really, an a minor detail. I wouldn't worry to much about it

I would think it wouldn't matter as long as your heart rate is where it needs to be. Obviously, fast paced walking on a incline won't be as hard on your knees, though.

    ^^

What? So you think running will sap your muscles and the other won't.

    Strong disagree with this.

if you truly want to use pure fat and no glycogen, no exercise is better, sitting on your ass will yield the highest fat oxidation with just pulling calories.
