Decided to build a platform - Pics

My brother came to visit, and I took advantage of having him here. Decided to build a platform to put my rack on and do some oly lifts in front of. I wasn't happy with just having the mats down in the garage, as I was worried about damaging the concrete. Big difference having the wood underneath the rubber sound and vibration wise.

Stealing directions from a few that I've seen on here and other boards, this was the results.

    Platform is 8w x 12L
6, 3/4 inch 4x8 sheets of oak plywood from Home Depot
    3, 3/4 inch 4x8 stall mats
    a bunch of 1 1/4 wood screws
    few tubes of liquid nails
a few drinks along the way

Pics attached. Honestly, this was stupid easy to put together but we learned the stall mats and plywood are not cut the same. So after getting the wood glued and screwed, dropping the mats on top there is about maybe a 1/4 of wood sticking out from the mats. Shrug, looks fine to me.

Nice setup. Have you posted pics of your gym?
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

    Nice job! Reps on recharge...

Edit: Where did you find 4'x8' stall mats? The 4'x6' size is far more common...

This feed store called Deyoungs in Woodinville Washington has them. They also carry the 4x6 in two different thicknesses (1/2 and 3/4).

    nice platform, It huge
It surprises me how many people refuse to buy equipment from Elitefts because its too expensive but they will buy equipment from their competitors, then continue to go on EFS website to educate themselves for FREE
